The Butchers Arms Freehouse is set just over a mile outside Leiston and 3 miles from the pretty Suffolk Heritage Coast. Lovely small pub full of locals that all seem to love dogs. Quiet area close to Suffolk Coast. Staff friendly and helpful. Light breakfast in the room (included) or full one in the pub (pay extra for this). I would stay again if I was in this area.

Located on the beachfront in Aldeburgh, The Cross Keys, Aldeburgh has a terrace. Guests can grab a bite to eat in the restaurant or a drink at the bar and free WiFi is available. Everything, our Room 2 was so cosy and comfy. The bed was very comfortable. Lovely touches, of tea, coffee and biscuits... Emily, Anna and Emma plus staff were amazing and made sure everything was perfect for our stay and not just us in fact all who entered the pub whether staying or not. They certainly are a perfect team and we’d like to thank them all. We ate at the pub and again the chef superb along with the dishes they offered. Hearty portion sizes and you couldn’t want anything else for breakfast so much to chose from. I’d definitely recommend. (also Adnams delish Mulled Wine) Thank you to Emily, Anna and Crew for our wonderful stay and wish you and the team and very merry Xmas and a happy and healthy 2021 Kind regards Teresa & Steve

Providing free WiFi, Seaside Fisherman Cottage Aldeburgh is located on the beachfront in Aldeburgh. The accommodations is 28 mi from Lowestoft. The cottage was absolutely immaculate. The beds were beautifully made up with fresh sheets and there were lots of nice white fluffy towels. The bathroom also had an excellent range of toiletries and the kitchen had tea, coffee, sugar etc. The location couldn't have been better too - one block back from the seafront and one street back from all the lovely shops, including gift shops, designer clothes, tea rooms, ice cream parlours, restaurants and pubs, in fact everything you need for a seaside get away. The house-martins, swifts and swallows had also just returned from Africa and it was an amazing to see them too. Our host Lucy was also amazing and very communicative, and even left out some lovely choccie biscuits for our arrival. All in all we had a lovely stay and can't wait to come back again! Thank you.

This property has been renovated with every attention to detail. The location is perfect for a long weekend in charming Aldeburgh. Very comfy beds and lounge furniture and a well-appointed kitchen. Loved the hallway between the kitchen/lounge and the downstairs bedroom and shower room - really added to the sense of space in the property. And don’t get me started about the upstairs area - what a divine bedroom ! A little early in the year to make the most of the upstairs balcony but in spring and summer it would be a gorgeous spot to sit and watch the world go by.

Fantastic classy seaside town with masses of character. Lighthouse restaurant is superb Pebble beach which has sheds selling fish fresh from sea. Moot House lovely 16th century building. Aldeburgh is close to many Suffolk landmarks.
The town is very quaint and there are several very pleasant, and at times bracing, coastal walks. The beach is of the pebble variety and as such probably doesn’t need visitors to turn up with a bucket and spade!
Disappointed in attitudes of shop keepers in regard to tourists. On more than one occasion whilst in my hearing tourists were describes as they in a derogatory context as if tourists were an inconvenience
Pleasantly surprised by how nice the town was from choice of places to eat & how good they were to lovely walks & lots around to do. The town was however quite busy even at this time of the year.
Aldeburgh is very clean, no rubbish on the beach or in the town lots of big litter bins in all prominent places and emptied each day by the council. Barriers in the road for the safety of pedestrians so can socially distance in the bottle neck places outside the chippy and the bakers and food takeaways. Although busy due to fabulous weather there was always space to socially distance along Crag Path and through the town unlike Southwold! Every shop had a polite reminder to wear a mask and the number of people allowed inside. It worked well. WELL DONE THE TOWN COUNCIL.
An attractive town with plenty of character that has not changed a great deal (other than the range of shops and restaurants) since my last visit 40 years ago! Plenty of enjoyable seaside, marshes and local countryside walks with wonderful scenery. The fish kiosks on the beach had a plentiful supply of fresh and smoked fish and shellfish. In particular, we purchased from a local fisherman the most wonderful, fresh and large wild sea bass that fed three of us for £10! We ate out several times and particularly enjoyed our meals at the Lighthouse, Brudenell Grill, Regatta and the Two Magpies bakery/cafe. Slate the cheesemonger was excellent too. We will certainly return.
