Perfectly located on the border of the North Yorkshire Moors, the Moors Inn is a Grade II Listed building in the center of Appleton-le-Moors village. Traditional pub with an excellent country feel, fabulous extension for the restaurant and accommodation.
Located in the picturesque village of Sinnington, The Fox and Hounds Country Inn is a former 18th-century coaching inn on the edge of the North York Moors National Park. A lovely country hotel set in a pretty place. Food was delicious. Very helpful and friendly staff who work very long hours to make your stay a very pleasurable one. Very relaxed atmosphere, with no real restrictions on what time you came in. Would definitely recommend.
The pub is the only place in the village that's not residential. It is very rural with sheep grazing in the street (plus droppings). Practically no street lighting at night. Decent walks from the front door of the Inn, though when you're used to the Highlands the North York Moors are a bit bleak.
This is a well located moorland village, only a mile from the main road Helmsley to Pickering - so a great spot for seeing all the lovely surroundings and, of course, the steam railway. The village itself is very attractive - not chocolate box - but a wide main street, with sheep on the grass verges, an interesting church and some beautiful stone houses. The excellent Moors Inn, with its busy local bar and great food, is really the only facility in the village, which sits just on the edge of the Moors. The village has a peaceful atmosphere, yet is close to other places with more life. Perfect spot if you want to go dog walking too.
Quiet village location but close to other North Yorkshire Moors villages and towns so excellent to explore from. The village itself although small was interesting and we enjoyed walking the back lanes and the main street alongside its sheep.
Quiet and tranquil location and friendly local residents. Central for Pickering and surrounding towns and villages. Plenty of sheep and birds to observe. Pleasant, welcoming staff at the Moors pub, food good and prices reasonable too. Church well worth a visit, especially impressive stained glass windows also and open for visitors- a cool, quiet haven Steam train from Pickering goes all the way to sea-side.
Appleton Le Moors is a peaceful, beautiful, traditional English village. Take a walk through the unspoilt village and admire the lovely old stone cottages and take some time to enjoy the stunning local church before a cold one at the wonderful local, The Moors Inn.
very quiet village but within a short drive you can visit many villages and within 25 miles the seaside resorts of Whitby scarborough and filey with the bonus of returning each evening to a lovely quiet village
Traditional pub with an excellent country feel, fabulous extension for the restaurant and accommodation.
