This beautifully renovated inn has comfy, modern rooms with air conditioning. The Mercure Thame Lambert Hotel is near junction 6 of the M40, on the borders of Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire. The friendly faces, the spacious room, the location (right next to M40 with a countryside feel), the food.
Far from the maddening crowds, with a peaceful location on a 300-acre working farm, surrounded by gorgeous gardens and overlooking a lake, this self-catering cabin has free parking on site. It was an amazing experience I’ve never had before. I was always dreaming to try the experience living in a farm and i did it with an amazing experience. Mrs.Theresa and Mr. Jim were extremely attentive and professional. I will never forget their favor by dropping/picking me and my wife to/from the bus station. They made sure our short stay was perfect. The cottage were extremely clean and well furnished. The views from the cottage were incredible. Highly recommended for those whose looking for a peaceful place. Thanks again Mrs. Theresa and Mr. Jim for your kindness. Good Luck

Katrina and Charlie are exceptional hosts. Made to feel very welcome on their property. Clean and tidy cabin with beautiful decor and lovely view out all windows. Bed was very comfy. Heading over to the thatched cottage for breakfast in the morning was a great part of our stay, welcomed by dogs and a smiling Katrina and Charlie. Breakfast was above and beyond and the conversation was easy and relaxed. Their recommendations for the area was great and we did everything they suggested. Would highly recommend!! Easy location near M40 Watlington exit... Watlington turned out to be a charming small town with some excellent small and interesting shops, especially His for Kitchens... an amazing kitchen shop where I found so many things I wanted and at excellent prices.
Staying at Aston Rowant with my husband, 21 yo and 13 yo was perfect. Gorgeous hotel, a walk in the Chilterns on your doorstep, Thame and Oxford a short distance away. Our rooms were spacious, beautifully furnished and quiet. We appreciated other areas off the bar in the hotel we could sit and have a drink with other family members staying at the hotel. Plentiful outside seating in a large sheltered courtyard, too. Breakfast and dinner to be recommended and the staff made the experience, all so professional friendly and helpful. Cannot imagine anyone not really enjoying a stay at this hotel.
Great reception staff. Truly dog friendly. Their cleaning staff need to be quiet in the early mornings an attempt to realise some people value a lie in, especially on a Sunday morning together when laying in for their holiday break from hectic normal work life. The cleaning staff prioritize having their own loud 'chit chat', up and down the corridor, which at 0730 on a Sunday morning is just ignorant and rude. Peaceful holiday that could have been better if all the staff were as well trained, polite and helpful as the reception team. Shame. Not sure I'd rebook here again.
