The history of Atherstone is very interesting, and goes back to Roman times. A walk around the town and beside the canal was delightful. There are at least 15-20 pubs in the town. We didn't eat locally as we were visiting friends.
A historic town with buildings used as coaching inns and a large market place. The Coventry Canal is a peaceful place to walk. The bus station is central with buses to Tamworth, Nuneaton and Coventry as well as local villages.
It’s a beautiful place. I went to a wedding at Mythe Barn and travelling through the area was like a breath of fresh air. We had a meal at The rose pub and the food and ambience was excellent. There are some really nice place to stay
We visited a very good restaurant - Herbs and Spice. Excellent curry etc. And you can take your own drinks - supermarkets close by. The town centre was quite lively for a small market town in November.
We were visiting an event at the NEC and this was about half hour away ( weekend traffic). The house was lovely, facilities great in the room, host couldn’t do enough for you and cooked a great breakfast
Hotel staff friendly and helpful Food especially breakfast is overpriced and not very good didn’t like the fact that we had to walk out of the hotel onto the street to get to our room but the room was clean and tidy with a nice bathroom ok for what we paid

Loved the room with a view! Very comfortable bed and water and milk were brought up to the room. If we had known to bring a rod or two, we would have done so. The landlady was delightful and was able to tell us about the history of Atherstone and the surrounding area.
Central location in Atherstone, Parking outside the property in marked spaces. The gardens were lovely and the house was very pretty. Richard and Siobahn were exceptional hosts. We felt very welcome.
