The Old Manor House offers accommodations in Axbridge. Free private parking is available on site. The rooms include a flat-screen TV. You will find a kettle in the room. Attention to detail not only in the room but the whole property. Personal greeting before we entered the house. Will certainly return. Thank you for a lovely stay.
Located in the village of Cross, near to Axbridge, The Story House - Mendip Countryside Cottage features a patio and garden views. Extremely helpful host. House very well appointed. We'd had a very wet and cold walk and were most grateful to find everything for the wood burner laid out ready to hand. Very comfortable bed. Great location at the foot of the Mendips. Dog friendly.
Located in Cheddar, Cheddar Woods Resort and Spa features an outdoor pool and a restaurant. You can play mini-golf at the resort, and the area is popular for golfing. Well equipped kitchen. Nice touch by providing a torch and being able to make a hot drink on arrival using the tea/coffee, milk and sugar that was complimentary.
Axbridge is a small town sadly no shops other than a Coop and 2 hairdressers!! Old medieval town lovely to walk around and well suited for other trips. The Oakhouse sits in the old square easy parking and lively buzz in the early evening in the last of the sun!
We have been visiting Axbridge for the last 10 years. A pretty medieval village, with lots to offer, including its own grocery store, beautiful church, the lovely Oak House a 12th Century Hotel and restaurant, a museum - St Johns Hunting Lodge, tea rooms, lovely antique shop, where the people are so very friendly, a friendly pub, pretty side streets and cottages, and lovely surrounding countryside for walking and taking in the fresh air. It even has its own reservoir.
Good location & a charming character property. Although bathroom is dated, the shower was very good. Spacious room & enjoyed an excellent nights sleep in a very comfortable bed. The breakfast on the following morning was very good. Would definitely recommend this property.
Interesting old town ( reminded us of a French square). Locals friendly. Look forward to visiting again. Close to Cheddar, Glastonbury, Bath ,Bristol Wells & Weston Super Mare. Some excellent pubs - especially the Crown - very good food / value for money, we ate here on a Thursday.
Lovely medieval town, with many Georgian houses. The surrounding countryside is beautiful, tranquil and peaceful. Good location to tour Northern Somerset. Eating places in the town include good pub food, and a more varied menu in the local hotel.
The Oak house hotel is very well placed to stroll around the area, which is very pretty, lovely buildings and the locals are very friendly. Nice places to eat nearby including the New Inn at Cross.
