Located in Balloch and with Balloch Castle Country Park reachable within 2.2 miles, Queen of the Loch by Marston's Inns has a garden, non-smoking rooms, free WiFi and a bar. The room was comfortable and clean. We had THE most wonderful time with the bartender, Connor!!! He absolutely was a joy to be around and we enjoyed his company immensely. He was charming and witty and went out of his way to accommodate us. It was sad to leave his company. Look up Connor while you are there!!!! He made our stay phenomenal!!

Owners were lovely and accommodating. Room was clean and breakfast was excellent Good recommendations for restaurants and attractions. Went out of the way to give directions to see Highland Cows at a lovely Farm Shop in Cardross. I had tea and a pastry in the restaurant there which was also so nice and the Cows did not disappoint!

Margaret was there in May 2019
It is a beautiful and scenic place. The place where we stayed was close to the Balloch railway station. We had easy bus access to Luss and the Loch Lomond shores. There are so many activities available in Luss.
Beautiful location. Whether visiting the local whisky distillery or relaxing on a boat tour of the loch, Balloch is the perfect place to spent a few romantic relaxing days. The loch itself is stunning and the surrounding buildings and accommodation are beautiful.
We stayed in Balloch for just two nights (one full day of activities). We arrived late at night by train which was not the nicest experience; there were a lot of drunk and loud people on the train (on a Sunday night!). However, once we got to start our day in Balloch it was lovely. We went on a cruise with Sweeney's Cruises which was amazing. It was a 1-hour cruise on Loch Lomond with interesting commentary and a café/bar on board. We then took a stroll through the Castle Country Park which gave a nice view of the loch and the surrounding mountains. We finished off with a nice dinner at Cucina - highly recommended for vegetarians and celiacs. It's a small town and everything is within walking distance, so one day was just enough for us. If you want to go hiking, however, you'll need more time since it takes a while to travel from Balloch to the really good hiking spots.
Liked the variety of places to eat. Not many shops to walk around. Enjoyed the view down near the water. We have ate in corries before quite traditional home cooked meals. We ate in the queen of the loch this time around and it was delicious.
Balloch is a lovely little place, lots of places to eat and drink. I would recommend the Queen of the Loch for a Sunday carvery not expensive and good quality, tasty food. We also went on a boat around the Loch "Sweeny's Cruises" great value and the views are just stunning. The shopping centre is a nice walk around and if you feel brave there are boats you can hire, we didn't as it was a little too windy and rainy. We drove North up the side of the Loch into the highlands and what an amazing drive it was. Truly stunning. We stopped off and did a walk through a forest "Ardkinglas Woodland Trail" this was gorgeous, although it was raining a good waterproof jacket and you will be fine, this time of year made it extra stunning with the autumn colours, we're tempted to visit in Summer to see what its like then!

Located in tourist area of Balloch. Clean comfortable rooms with all needed facilities. Lovely breakfast, especially having ‘Specials’ everyday, the pancakes with fruit & maple syrup being my favourite, we were made very welcome, & were able to carry on using facilities after check out time, due to the timing of our flight Home.

It's run by a really nice man called Harry. He's a rare find these days, very obliging and informative without being stuffy. Knows the best places to eat and vast knowledge of the area. The Arbor is perfectly placed for all areas of Loch Lomond just as you enter Balloch. We couldn't have expected better.

Location is pretty good although there are better similarly priced hotels in Balloch. There is basically nothing wrong with this hotel that couldn't be remedied by a deep clean some staff training and a manager who had an eye for detail and focussed on getting the basics right. Rooms are tired but functional.
