Banchory is a lovely town in a beautiful setting next to the River Dee. There are plenty of interesting shops to explore and some great places for eating and drinking. It's also a perfect base for exploring Royal Deeside and Aberdeenshire.
Great independent shops, river walks, large supermarket and petrol station. Great place to base for day trips to Aberdeen, Moray, Cairngorms. Local people were very friendly. Crathes castle and gardens well worth visit. Buses run from Aberdeen to Breamar, to through Banchory. Lots of mountain biking opportunity, hill walking, castle bagging and a great pub lunch too
Banchory is a good central location for visiting all the castles and historical homes. It also has a micro climate that is generally better weather than in Aberdeen and the coast. Although it is described as a village by the locals it is really a small town with all the amenities that you need, 2 supermarkets and a lot of restaurants.
Banchory has a bustling high street full of interesting shops for visitors including gift shops, wool shop & fabric shop & a well stocked ironmongers & plenty of cafes & pubs to stop for coffee/ice creams/snacks/lunches & restaurants for evening meals. Banchory seems very dog friendly with bowls of water outside most cafes. If you have your car there are plenty of attractions nearby such as Crathes Castle with is beautiful gardens & ‘Go Ape’ adventures to appeal to the youngsters.
Banchory is a beautiful town on Royal Deeside and very much worth a visit as I have done on many occasions. Such a shame that this hotel will give foreign visitors a very bad expression of what Scotland has to offer. Don't get me wrong, Scotland has some great hotels and I have had the pleasure to stay in quite a few of them.
Great hotel for all ages of guests, great outdoor dining area and seating overlooking the river. Rooms have views looking out to the river too. Great food and staff are so attentive and friendly Great place to stay.
Banchory
There was the option of a full cooked breakfast but we chose the uncooked choices which were comprehensive and excellent. On 3 nights we had a 3 course evening meal which were all very good from a wide menu, selection to be made by 2pm on the same day. The room was very comfortable with all the facilities one could possibly need. The ensuite bathroom was particularly impressive. Marilyn and Mum were great hosts, fun and nothing was too much trouble.
Excellent Scottish breakfast, freindly hlepful staff and the bonus of The Bothy for separate private dining. Wonderfully comfortable bed and plenty of space. Set in its own grounds within walking distance of Banchory town centre.
We had a fantastic stay for our honeymoon. Staff were friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and comfy and the breakfast was delicious. We would recommend a short stay here if you are exploring Aberdeenshire.
Banchory
Location was lovely but needed a car as quite far out of Banchory. The villa was very comfortable and nicely furnished. We enjoyed sitting out on the balcony which is actually bigger than it looks in the photos.
Banchory
Cosy, homely and spotlessly clean, Dallaire House was the perfect base for us to visit family in Aberdeen and explore in and around Banchory. The chocolate and fizz waiting for us was a nice surprise!
Nice hotel and very friendly staff. We stayed here when our home had no power, following a storm. The staff couldn't have been more understanding. The room was comfortable.
breakfast was fine. hotel a little difficult to get to by bus/public transport. I have difficulty in sleeping in single beds
