I was here to visit family but Banchory is a great place to base yourself for a lovely break in Scotland. There is great fishing and shooting nearby as well as historic castles, wonderful driving routes and scenic rivers. There is also a gliding club nearby that offer experience flights.
I loved the location of the hotel. Right on the bank of the river. The staff were very helpful and friendly. And the food and wines were fabulous. It was a great wee break and I will definitely go back. There is also a large eating/sitting area outside weather dependant. The hotel is also dog friendly which is very important for us.
Banchory is in a beautiful setting and near some famous salmon running falls. To see Salmon leaping better to go in Feb/March or September though. Banchory Lodge has first class accommodation and food and is very well located to visit Stonehaven, Crieff Castle and other famous castles and gardens!
