On the edge of Basingstoke, Hampshire Court Hotel & Spa is a modern 4-star hotel with an award-winning restaurant and brasserie bar, as well as leisure facilities, including 2 indoor pools. I really liked the fitness facilities that had instructors come and teach..yoga, pilates, body combat.etc the breakfast was also tasty i liked the fact that there was a paved path only 100m and you were at tesco, yet it is completely secluded from the shopping center, you wont even notice it if you do not know its there

We had to be in Basingstoke for a few days for family matters - we would never choose to stay there as tourists. I note the next question in this list is what would we recommend Basingstoke for. Apart from the train out to London, absolutely nothing.
Good Access to town centre from transport hubs. Compact covered shopping centre. Good selection of places to eat. Always like a Nando’s and the Wetherspoons always a go to place for a cheap drink. Basing Old Town nearby and Basing House worth a visit as is The Vyne (National Trust)
If you like shopping Basingstoke has a great shopping mall including The Vue Cinema, Flip Out and much more. Everything is close to the Centre, the Railway Station, Bus Station, the Anvil and Haymarket Theatre. Negotiating the one way system to get out of the centre was not so easy. More signs for the motorway wouldn't go amiss. There are a multitude of eating places. We used Wetherspoons, The Angel. A lovely well kept modern bar with really friendly staff. We WOULD NOT receommend the Maidenhead Arms (Wetherspoons) in the main High Street.
Apparently the pejorative nickname for the town is “Boringstoke”, and I kind of see why. It seems like old medieval town mutated into a modern shopping mall. The downtown area is pedestrianized (yay!), with all the chain stores & chain restaurants you could want (erm…), with excellent rail connections to more well-known destinations. I had been interested in renting/hiring a bicycle and getting out to see a bit more of the surrounding area — landmarks like Jane Austen’s birthplace, the real life Watership Down hill, and the Bombay Sapphire gin distillery are all within a reasonable bike distance from downtown — but the town doesn’t seem to have a bike hire scheme yet, nor did I see any dockless pay-per-use bikes, nor was I able to find a bike shop in town that provided rental services. Oh well, maybe this will change in the future.
Room was good, average bedroom size with all the amenities. There is a bar and restaurant. There are other places to eat nearby, Barton mill was excellent. We attended a wedding at Basing House. Many of the guests stayed here so was a good point to meet.
We went there for a family wedding which was held at the hotel. The staff that were there did their best, but there weren't enough of them. I know the bride and groom are going to complain about the whole wedding reception. I am writing a separate letter of complaint. We did visit Winchester cathedral, which is worth going to. Also the oldest bar in England just round the corner from the cathedral.
Basingstoke
After having to leave The Hampshire Court hotel due to it's dangerous and filthy condition. I had to find a hotel at very short notice. Audleys Wood had availability at a higher price than I had paid at the pig pen, but if I had known how beautiful this hotel was and how fantastic the staff where I would be more than happy to have booked there first. My deepest thanks go to all the staff, from the night Porter to the hotel Manager that saved our weekend away.
Basingstoke
The property was of outstanding standard, spotlessly clean, finishing little touches and attention to detail was displayed in furnishings and comfort. The location was great right in the centre of Basingstoke. The host Linzi did everything she could to make my stay an enjoyable experience, like allowing an earlier check-in and later check out time. Looking forward to coming again very soon.
Basingstoke
The room was really nice and seemed to have been recently decorated or refurbished. It was good to have a microwave, toaster and fridge, as these are not provided in many budget hotels. The welcome tray was very nice too, and there were plenty og coffee sachets for us. Having fresh milk was good too, as it is much nicer than the small cartons of long life milk provided in budget hotels.
Basingstoke
Absolutely blissful stay though it's not in Basingstoke, it's in Dummer and connectivity through bus/public transport is not great so a good option only if one has a car. Martin & his wife were perfectly welcoming, sweet and helpful! Room was in a great condition and washroom was super clean. Lovely guest house situated in the countryside, and great views! 👍🏼
Really enjoyed my stay at the Basingstoke Holiday Inn. It's a lovely well maintained hotel, close enough to everything but tucked away enough so it was nice and quiet. The one problem we had, when the shower wouldn't work in our first room, was resolved very quickly. We were moved rooms swiftly and were able to enjoy our stay. I will definitely stay again.
The room is comfortably furnished and tea and coffee are provided as well. The English breakfast was also very good. The hotel is not so far from the train station and a huge shopping mall, which was very convenient. Check-in ahead of time was not possible, but I was allowed to leave my bag with the reception to check in later.
Nothing. I'm afraid to say there is nothing good to say about this hotel. Extremely disappointed. Basingstoke was nice.
Almost everything, about what I would expect from a four star hotel. It's also very modern as it's newly built.
Love the hotel and location, which is exactly half way between home and my destination in Devon.
