Great location, huge room, nicely decorated and friendly staff! There were some works going on but breakfast across the road was still great! Room surpassed our expectations - perfect for three friends travelling. Nice to have coffee and water in the room

Exceptional staff, everyone was kind and friendly. Great breakfast options and a beautiful garden to relax in as well. Location is also perfect for access to shops and a 5 minute walk to the Newport bus station providing bus service to the whole island.

Sarah was a great hostess. She took the time to help us with some of our travel plans, including identifying some places to stay in the area we were about to travel to. She also made us a beautiful breakfast (asked for scrambled eggs, salmon, mushrooms, and bread) at the time we requested. It was perfectly prepared. In addition to the breakfast she offered home-made granola, fruit, including apples from her apple trees, and home-made conserves. The room was lovely and comfortable. Stroud House was a perfect choice for our visit to the Isle of Wight.

Really cosy homely feel. Had everything we needed and more. Absoloutely everything was thought of. Milk bread and eggs on arrival Bed was incredibly comfortable! Shower room was spottless with what felt like brand new towels.

Son enjoyed play area a lot, lots of equipment. Pool table and Ice hockey table. Breakfast was lovely. Staff was helpful too. Spacious room with child and amazing view of field where our son enjoyed seeing horses from room.

The access and parking is a problem if you have a sporty low...

The access and parking is a problem if you have a sporty low car or anything I larger than a ford fiesta. The area is great as a base for your stay as you can get on the military road and go anywhere on the south coast or go the opposite direction out the lane to get to the north, Military road, left takes you east, Or to the right, obviously west. I thought it was one of the best areas of the island.

A pleasant and prosperous little place attractive cottages.

A pleasant and prosperous little place attractive cottages. The most sizeable settlement on the Southwest coast, but still small. Food service in the pub, The Three Bishops, was erratic and slow, but the staff were delightful. The village shop is superb, ideal for self-caterers with its imaginative and wide range of stock. It also stays open until 19.00, so ideal after a long day exploring. The bus services are hourly through the village and connect to Newport, Freshwater and Totland.
