None of the "hikes" around the area can be easily followed . . . by non-locals. We got lost trying to follow directions on a hike that took us through sheep fields and around farms. That said, we still had a good time, and never were out of doubt that we could return to our destination. I would recommend non-UK travelers bring a good GPS and compass before braving Cotswold "public footpaths."
It's a lovely town and a great central location for us as we went to Bladon and Blenheim Palace one day, to an English football Championship league game near Birmingham on another, to a stable with horses for hire, and to numerous other beautiful small towns and sites in the Cotswolds. Just a warning--while it is a nice drive from Heathrow, it takes longer to get there than the maps say, particularly if the road are busy.
Lovely manor house in a beautiful country setting a few short miles from center of Chipping Campden. Excellent breakfast and dinner options on site. Pool and exercise facilities plus hiking paths around grounds. Main house didn't have air conditioning, but that is seldom a problem in this area. Close to world famous Hidcote Gardens - well worth the visit. Note that the country roads are narrow and slow going, so don't expect to hurry, but enjoy the rolling hills of the Cotswolds.
A charming Cotswold village set in quintessentially 'English Countryside'. Nice shops and pubs and we enjoyed strolling around the Square and surrounding streets. Lovely countryside with great views and good roads for relaxed touring.
We enjoyed going to the Hidcote Manor Garden. We met an artist that was taking clips of flowers to make clay replicas. We went to the rapture place next to Kiftsgate Court Garden and saw show where the hawks and eagles flew and came back the exhibitor. It was interesting learning about those species. We especially liked being there when people showed their gardens behind their homes. It showed us beautiful homes and gardens that we would not have known were there. We also enjoyed the walk around the town. We could appreciate the history of the town. The Tourist information not only helped us find places of interest but getting our tire on our vehicle pumped up so that we could drive it to the car rental agency. Our only regret was that there was so much rain. We attempted to take the walk from Stow on the Wold but found it hard to identify which gates we needed to go to and there was so much mud that we had to turn back. Still it was an interesting walk because we went by a pair of horses and found a house that had a stream and mill next to itl
Loved Chipping Campden. Found it was smaller and less touristy, than some of the other Cotswold towns, but that is what we wanted. Excellent accommodations and restaurants/ pubs/ teas. The Cotswolds feel and scenery is there!! Local bus service to Moreton on Marsh and Stratford
This is a lovely location in the village of Chipping Campden and an easy walk to any pubs and restaurants in town. They have a parking area in the back that makes it possible to come and go if you drive to walking trails as we did. Breakfast was made to order and delicious. Bed was very comfortable. Staff friendly. One tip is that if you wish to eat locally almost certainly you must phone the establishments ahead and reserve a table. They are all small and have limited seating.
My booked rooms were the standard twins rooms. No connecting rooms for our family but they were next to each other and on second floor only, so not too bad. No lift. I like the on top cash back via local credit card promotion. The location, the ample parking space behind the hotel, the rooms, and the dinner and breakfast. I didn’t expect much but all these points impressed our family and we keep talking about this hotel.Thank you.
Great location in a lovely little village with 2 pubs and local Nisa on your door step. The cottage was lovely with everything you need. Owner and staff were so friendly and on hand if need be. Dog friendly with even a doggy bed and ball for your pooch. We thought that was a lovely touch. Would definitely recommend

the breakfast was excellent, hospitable service, charming hotel with good vibe located a bit away from the main road. No problem finding parking during our stay. Has coffee, tea, and cookies in the room.
The restaurant connected to the hotel was fantastic, and the service was great. The owner of the hotel was really friendly, and the staff in the bar was super nice. The rooms were also nice.
