We arrived a little later than originally planned, but this didn't cause any issue with check-in, which was swift and efficient. We were pleasantly surprised at our room - the decor was chic, scrupulously clean and quite modern. The bathroom was very clean, there were plenty of towels and were also very clean. The hotel is situated on the middle of nowhere, with no other pubs or restaurants that we could find within a reasonable distance, so we opted for dinner at the hotel. The food was very good quality, as was the selection of drinks, if a little more expensive than we expected. Breakfast was very good, with a good selection, served quickly and effectively. Check out was efficient.
Idilic. Breakfast was lovely but we didn’t eat there other times due to other arrangements with friends. Would love to have tried the other meals. Did have a desert one evening which was to die for. We are foodies as you can see. Situation was great very therapeutic surroundings.
Great place literally just off A1 but quiet and countrified. Lovely staff and hotel. Dinner was exceptional value and very tasty. Good breakfast. Convenient for Durham and Beamish. Daughters single room was very spacious. Comfy beds. Would definite recommend this hotel. Nice stop over if you are going further north.
The Old Mill is not in the village it is in a very quiet location but is very busy with locals. The restaurant is very popular with very good pub food on offer You certainly won't leave here hungry the portions are very generous.
