Beautiful place to stay. Great base to tour the Black Isle. Relaxing and interesting area. We ate in the Factor's House and wandered along the sea front. Folk were swimming in the sea and loads of interesting places to visit.
Restful little town with lovely views of Cromarty Firth from the Links. Royal Hotel is in a prime position and provides a welcoming setting for a short stay. We ate in the hotel during our stay because the selection on the menu was varied and tasty.
Cromarty is small but a lovely place to visit and walk around. The views are fantastic. The sea and country views are lovely and even the oil rigs being decommissioned or refitted look spectacular when lit up at night. There are some great walks around the shoreline and over South Sutor. Not many places to eat out but we tried them and they were fine. Handy local shops.
I think Cromarty is lovely place to visit and spend time in. The Sutors walk is brilliant, the local shops and restaurants are great, the town architecture is also very appealing. Cromarty has an air of something special about it for sure!
Cromarty is a lovely small and quaint seaside town with an interesting variety of old buildings. We had some sunny spells but also some hail showers and cold winds - but it was February so very much seasonal weather! The East Church was really worth a visit - a lovely old but well restored building. The nearby pub was also cosy with a warm fire and nice local beer.
The cottage had everything we required for our stay. It was a real home from home. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes and equipment. The two living rooms meant there was plenty room to relax. The cottage was ideally situated for getting to the beach. There were plenty of nice walks and it was an ideal location for taking the dog. Cromarty is a hidden gem. There is lots to see and do in the village and in the surrounding area.
Easily the best place that I have stayed in a long time. Having been touring in Shetland and Orkney, Cromarty had been recommended to us; we had seen quite a few hotels and B&Bs in the previous 10 days and the Factor's House was head & shoulders above the lot. Very personal and attentive, like living in a luxurious family home with truly excellent food.
The hotel location is great and the hotel is small which is great for a relaxing time. The room was big with lots of space and with sea view ( but you will also unfortunately see the oil rigs). Bathroom is very spacious.
