Shopping Destination with Convenient Station
Midway between central London and Gatwick Airport, Croydon is a shopping haven. Hundreds of stores are found under the glass-roofed Whitgift Centre and the even more modern Centrale complex.
This thriving retail industry is one factor contributing to the town being London’s 3rd most important business area, so naturally it has its fair share of skyscrapers. Also tall is the red-brick Croydon Clocktower, housing the town museum, and attached to the town hall overlooking Queen’s Gardens.
Opposite is Fairfield Halls, a large arts venue behind which run train lines connecting East Croydon Station to London Victoria in one direction, and Gatwick and Brighton in the other.
