Featuring mountain views, Cozy Kipp, luxury static caravan in Kippford provides accommodations with a terrace and a kettle, around 1.6 mi from Rockcliffe Beach. What a wonderful holiday. Our first time to this area of Scotland and we will definitely be back. There is just so much to do, our children had a ball visiting the onsite play parks and nearby beaches and woodland. Cosy kipp is the perfect place to explore all the local sights both on foot and by car. It was a home from home with lots of beautiful touches thanks to the owner Wendy. Nestled in a rural setting we loved the views and loved seeing rabbits, red squirrels and pheasants from our window. Wendy was amazing and went out of her way to make our holiday the best it could be. Nothing was too much trouble. Covid restrictions were changing all the time but Wendy was supportive and put our minds at ease about safety. We can’t wait to go again next year.

Offering free WiFi and city views, The Roundhouse is an accommodations located in Dalbeattie. I liked the style of the property and the choice of furnishings. I liked the light that flooded the living area and the triple aspect views.
Lovely friendly scottish town. With plenty of eating out options and take aways. Town wood walk and coniston park great for a stroll. For the more active we did the forest walk with fantastic views (would be suitable for pushchair)to Kippford (5.5miles) a lovely seaside village, recommended the Mariner pub for a refreshing drink and or lunch overlooking the sea. The Sun Inn/ Chinese restaurant was a good value evening with great playlist and fantastic food. Birchtree great relaxing bar with very good food.
A lovely little town very welcoming, we ate at the Chinese restaurant called the Sea Horse on the first night and were made to feel part of the family both the owners took the time to have a short chat with us during our stay. We started the second day with a trip to Rockcliffe which has some fantastic views and also an area that you can go for a dip in the water. There is also a nice trail walk between rockcliffe and Kippford, I would recommend suitable footwear though as terrain is a bit rough in places. Back in Dalbeattie we had a stroll around the village it has a nice village green with a duck pond well maintained. There are tennis courts within the grounds for those a bit more athletic. We had a couple of drinks in the local bars again staff were very welcoming. We finished the day back at our hotel The Birchtree Hotel where we had a light snack for dinner again food was great
Good selection of shops and places to eat. Great for walking in the woods / forest. Also a good base for visiting other places such as Dumfries. We used our car but there appeared to be very regular bus services.
The staff were friendly the bar area and the breakfast restaurant was very nice but we found the hotel very dirty our first room was not ready , we found that it had not been prepared, we were moved to another room and found this to be dirty also. Hair on the shower floor, used soap and half used shampoo bottle. The bedside drawer had hair and was very dusty inside, I put my blue baseball cap in the drawer and when I removed it the next morning it was white with dust. The reviews were really good for this hotel but it would appear that standards have drastically slipped. The food was excellent and was free due to the unfortunate mixup of the previous room.
Dalbeattie/Kippford are fabulous villages offering great opportunities for walking and sightseeing. Kippford is quieter with a couple of places to enjoy excellent bar meals. Dalbeattie is the 'hub' of the area with shops, restaurants and all the amenities you need for a fabulous stay.
Our accommodation was excellent .It was very clean and welcoming. The view from the window was beautiful .The site well looked after and quiet .The walks we had were lovely and every day we were able to do something different .We plan to make a return trip .
