I`ve already done a review but would like to add, the service we got when we reported the light bulb was prompt, no fuss, Also the power switch for the shower was explained straight away and was the the same system as at home only in a slightly different place. The garden was a delight as was the view over the countryside.

Quiet village just off the main A12 although you would not be aware of this. Easy access too many of the well-known places in the area (Southwold, Aldeburgh, Minsmere, Snape Maltings). Very nice evening meal next door at The Fox Inn - recommended.

There is nothing in Darsham itself. The ground floor rooms are dog friendly so it's particularly good for dog walkers. Only Southwold has a sandy beach, the rest are shingle. For families Framlingham Castle is not far away. Places like Snape Malting etc more for adults. Naturalists will love the profusion of Nature Reserves, particularly Minsmere. We ate twice in The Fox because there are lots of pubs with good food within a short drive. Book ahead, they are popular.

A very good place to stay for touring the Suffolk coast, Norfolk Broads and many pretty villages Ideal for bird watchers and walkers The Fox was a good place for evening meals, the food was excellent and the staff most helpful

I travelled by train and found that there were no taxis as each of the 7 numbers listed didn't work and had to walk to our location. Beware to ensure you have adequate transport before arrival. Apart from this, it was a lovely scenic location.

A nice location too return to after a busy day out. The kids loved the lodge, but I felt a bit conscious that I was surrounded by fishermen enjoying the peace. Unless your children are impeccably behaved,I would think twice about staying here with young children. Also it gets extremely hot and stuffy in the lodge, black wooden frame, but if you open all the windows, you get flys and wasps in for tea! Again, for adults, not a problem, but younger children with a phobia for bugs, a constant niggle.
