The White Hart Hotel and Restaurant are situated in the village of Dorchester-on- Thames, 8 miles south of Oxford. The decor was in keeping with the period of the building and lovely and clean with comfortable room. The staff (and locals) were open and friendly and very helpful and engaging. The surrounding area has lovely walking routes.
Located in the heart of rural Oxfordshire, in picturesque Dorchester, The George Hotel is one of Britain’s oldest coaching inns. The inn offers hearty breakfasts and a traditional restaurant. The traditional feel. It is an antique itself. I love the old furniture and interior. As a traveller the hotel is already a tourist spot. I believe the hotel should promote this.
With a garden and fabulous rooms with attached bathroom, this charming bed and breakfast nestles amid the medieval village of Dorchester-on-Thames, where Midsummer Murders was filmed in 2010 and 2014.... The ambience, the bedroom, the bath, the breakfasts, the location....and Sharon, our host, who was delightful. Also, it was very close to Oxford.
Offering luxurious barn conversion suites around 20 minutes’ drive from Oxford, Court Farm Barns enjoy an beautiful village location in Warborough. Superb property, sparkling clean, comfortable and warm. 'Breakfast' package was one of the best that I've had, very thoughtfully put together and top quality ingredients. Really couldn't fault anything, will definitely use again when working in the area. Many thanks.
Located in South Oxfordshire, in the heart of the village of Burcot, The Checkers offers 9 beautifully-designed rooms with attached bathroom, an award-winning bar and gastro pub. The owner was perfect. Hospitality I will write more. I just landed in Moscow
Located between Oxford and Henley, this hotel features beautiful views over a quiet part of the River Thames. Guests can enjoy the restaurant and bar and free parking. Beautiful setting, we stayed for two nights over New Year’s Eve, good food, entertainment, staff could not of done more, very friendly,
The Plow Inn is a 16th-century inn which has kept some original features such as its thatched roof and Inglenook fireplace. Great breakfast and even very accommodating to my girlfriend dietary requirements going extra mile to help. Very close to nice river for swimming in and amazing country walks
Dorchester is a quiet medieval town situated next to the River Thames within easy reach of Oxford and Abingdon. Its history goes as far back as the late iron age period but it was the Romans who really started Dorchester. Most of the architecture though is medieval and has been used for TV shows such as Midsummer Murders.
Great village full of character with its own mediaeval abbey and nice walks in the village and to the west, the river Thames itself with tow paths and a bridge to Little Wittenham village, and an iron age fort
Dorchester is a delightful village with many older and distinctive properties. Had a lovely walk in the surrounding countryside along the Thames Path. The Abbey was closed when we visited but looks like an interesting place to visit with peaceful grounds.
Gorgeous village with lots of history and beautiful walks both in the village and surrounding countryside. Really easy drive to both Oxford where there is a big car park at Westgate and Benheim. Eat at the Whit Hart. The food and accommodation there are superb.
Lovely village with three excellent pubs. The landlord at the White Hart cannot do enough for you. Traffic is light, the main road runs around the village so traffic noise is not an issue. It is a pretty, typically English village with thatched, and tudor-style houses, with Oxford in easy reach.
Small pretty village if you like character properties ,3 pubs and hotels to stay in . The white hart was the prettiest and the food was excellent ,impressive anglican abbey to visit . Good location to get to oxford from if you use the park and ride at Redbridge approx 15min drive.
