The White Hart Hotel and Restaurant are situated in the village of Dorchester-on- Thames, 8 miles south of Oxford. Lovely historical building which was a B&B, pub and restaurant. Friendly and helpful staff. Quiet clean and comfortable. Nice big bed!! Dorchester on Thames only 9 miles out of Oxford, and a lovely place to stay.
Located in the heart of rural Oxfordshire, in picturesque Dorchester, The George Hotel is one of Britain’s oldest coaching inns. The inn offers hearty breakfasts and a traditional restaurant. Found this place by chance. Great accommodation, meal and locals very friendly. Hope to make it back again
With a garden and fabulous rooms with attached bathroom, this charming bed and breakfast nestles amid the medieval village of Dorchester-on-Thames, where Midsummer Murders was filmed in 2010 and 2014.... The ambience, the bedroom, the bath, the breakfasts, the location....and Sharon, our host, who was delightful. Also, it was very close to Oxford.
Just a 20-minute drive from Oxford, and 6 min drive from The Crazy Bear Stadhampton. Warborough B&B offers high-quality accommodations in a luxurious architect-designed home. Beautiful home. Was sad I only had one night. Fabulous freshly prepared breakfast!
Offering luxurious barn conversion suites around 20 minutes’ drive from Oxford, Court Farm Barns enjoy an beautiful village location in Warborough. We loved the amount of space - having the 2 floors was a real plus. The bed was comfy and the whole area was very clean and tastefully decorated. I loved the spiral staircase - although some people might find it difficult. There was plenty of food provided for the diy breakfast - it was a very relaxed morning as we didn’t have to eat between set times. The owner and her family were very approachable and friendly. It was a pity we only stayed for one night.
Located in South Oxfordshire, in the heart of the village of Burcot, The Checkers offers 9 beautifully-designed rooms with attached bathroom, an award-winning bar and gastro pub. Our evening meal was delicious and our breakfast very good, would definitely recommend and definitely return.
Located between Oxford and Henley, this hotel features beautiful views over a quiet part of the River Thames. Guests can enjoy the restaurant and bar and free parking. Dinner was good. Breakfast was nicely done; I had a hot breakfast as I was about to go kayaking. Staff was perfect! Swift and professional while also being friendly and kind. My budget room was a bit worn but very clean.
Great village full of character with its own mediaeval abbey and nice walks in the village and to the west, the river Thames itself with tow paths and a bridge to Little Wittenham village, and an iron age fort
Dorchester is a delightful village with many older and distinctive properties. Had a lovely walk in the surrounding countryside along the Thames Path. The Abbey was closed when we visited but looks like an interesting place to visit with peaceful grounds.
Gorgeous village with lots of history and beautiful walks both in the village and surrounding countryside. Really easy drive to both Oxford where there is a big car park at Westgate and Benheim. Eat at the Whit Hart. The food and accommodation there are superb.
Lovely village with three excellent pubs. The landlord at the White Hart cannot do enough for you. Traffic is light, the main road runs around the village so traffic noise is not an issue. It is a pretty, typically English village with thatched, and tudor-style houses, with Oxford in easy reach.
Small pretty village if you like character properties ,3 pubs and hotels to stay in . The white hart was the prettiest and the food was excellent ,impressive anglican abbey to visit . Good location to get to oxford from if you use the park and ride at Redbridge approx 15min drive.
Dorchester on Thames is a lovely town with many historical buildings and an abbey which is well worth visiting. Was great just to walk around We stayed in the Fleur de Lys inn which at the moment is a B&B only. We had a very comfortable stay with lovely breakfasts
