Set in Alderton in the Gloucestershire region, Bells Cottage features a terrace. The accommodations is 19 mi from Gloucester. This is hands down the best B&B that we stayed in during this trip to the UK - maybe the best ever! It is a bit out of the way, but if you are travelling to Cotswolds it is totally worth to drive a few extra miles to stay here. We arrived in the afternoon and immediately fell in love with the place. It is an authentic old house, charming and comfortable at the same time. Everything in the house is very well thought out, to the point that you don't want to leave the house at all, just lounge with the book in the garden, or on the sun-lit veranda if it's too cold outside. The master bedroom is on the second floor, with a charming spiral staircase leading there. The house is fully stocked to make your stay comfortable. There was a coffee machine with plenty of capsules supplied (important for our family of coffee addicts), basket with fruits and even the home-made scones with special cream, and even the instructions on how to use it :) And so on and so forth - literally every little detail was carefully thought of. The next morning we had a long lazy breakfast on the veranda, browsing through a magnificent collection of books that the owners thoughtfully left there. In addition to many books on Cotswolds that one could expect (e.g. Cotswolds tourist guides, Cotswolds walks, Cotswolds picture books etc.), there was also a very entertaining collection of history books (e.g. I was most impressed by a diary of a lady who lived in this very house 100 years ago!), culinary books, humor, poetry etc. It was an unexpected but most pleasant bonus for our stay, so much that upon returning home we bought a few books that we read in this house for our own library. I hope that one day we will return to this place to spend a few days there instead of just one!
