Hotel in Hever
Beautiful Countryside Bedroom is located in Hever and has a garden and a tennis court. There is a terrace and guests can make use of free WiFi and free private parking. My partner and I stayed here due to a wedding at Hever Castle and were very much pleasantly surprised with what a great location it was! Only 1 mile from the castle, which meant you can leisurely walk down the the castle, or book a quick 10 min taxi ride. We had a little walk down to The King Henry VIII pub which is just outside the castle, for some lunch and walked back as it was such a beautiful day. The rooms themselves were brilliant. Everything you needed for a night away was available, including a fridge for a few cheeky pre-wedding drinks. It was all spotlessly clean too. I fell in love with the fact that all the rooms were names after King Henry VIII and all his wives. This gives it so much character. Parking was also ideal at the site, there was a nice big parking lot. All in all this is a perfect location for those who are looking for a cute little night away next to Hever Castle.
Cowden (Near Edenbridge)
Located in Cowden in the Kent region, The Duck House features a terrace and garden views. Absolutely idyllic and complete perfection. This is how all accommodation should be. Amazing location, loved feeding the ducks. Good quality furnishings, linen, towels etc. Good space for our family of four. It just felt homely. Loved the underfloor heating in the bathroom. We would come back in a heart beat.
I visited the place to participate in the Castle Run series. The town of Hever itself is a small one, the castle grounds are worth a visit. I wish I'd stayed a day longer to soak up that quietness. If you don't arrive by car, it might be somewhat uncomfortable to walk along the vehicle roads with no sidewalk most of the time, though.
We stayed 1 night and spent the majority of the time in the castle grounds, where there is plenty to do and some beautiful, scenic walks to take. unfortunately on our visit, owing to the covid restrictions, the maze was closed, also the boat hire had finished for the season. (september) There are lots of pubs/restaurants close by, we visited The Wheatsheaf and had an excellent meal and was good value for money.
Very friendly welcome in a unique setting. The tour of the castle is most interesting and grounds provide manageable walks. Local pubs provide excellent food, particularly King Henry VIII pub opposite castle entrance.
Plenty of pubs and country walks, the Indian restaurant Quality Tandoori although has good reviews turned out to be disappointing the food was really salty and generally tasted terrible( my wife said the same as we both had ordered different curries)
Edenbridge itself is small and we only went there to get petrol. However it's extremely close to Hever Castle, Chartwell house and Gatwick. I wouldn't choose to visit the town as a destination but rather a great setting off point.
Lots of great Bars, Restaurants and little shops. Great location if you have loved Winnie the Pooh as you can easily drive to the 500acre woods and play pooh sticks. Also near Chartwell, home of Winston Churchill.
Edenbridge
Our hosts were excellent in providing detailed information for our stay. Loved the history of the house, the character and the location. It's a five-ten minute walk to Edenbridge Town station, which gets you into London within 40 minutes. The leisure centre is a ten minute walk away, and a nice river walk five minutes away. Plenty of choice for supermarkets, and a couple of good pubs and coffee shops.
Edenbridge
We loved this property! We had a twin room with lovely colors...and a bathroom with separate tub and shower to match! There is also air conditioning in this part of the hotel, which is rare in most properties found throughout England. We also appreciated that we had full access to the castle and grounds during the course of our stay. We never had a reason to leave...except for dinners.
Lovely romantic country hotel / restaurant, close to interesting stately homes, castles and gardens to make for an interesting weekend.
Edenbridge
The accommodation was of an extremely high standard. Games for the kids, DVD,s and it was more of a home than a hotel.
