Located in Fochabers, just 14 miles from Strathisla Distillery, The Mouries Holiday Cottage provides beachfront accommodations with free bikes, a garden and free WiFi. The combination of location, property and facilities suited our family group immensely. My 5 year old granddaughter unequivically stated "I love this house". What more do you want?

Although great view of the ocean you really couldnt access the beach. Not the best due to being a stoney beach no good for children or dogs as you couldn't get down to the waters edge. Far better beach at Lossiemouth and Hopeman
A very good base for exploring Speyside or the coast or going on the Whisky Trail. Interesting selection of small shops - Tourist and quality Scottish souvenirs - Antique shops - Fabric and haberdashery (which is now difficult to find in the city) - Cafe / ice-cream parlour - local history museum - interesting walks.
Countryside at its best - flowing great salmon rivers, the sea, inland country walks on the moors of northern Scotland. Close to landmarks and Elgin city. Mountain bike trails just along the road. Go for it
Nice wee town, quiet and sleepy now that it's bypassed, But it has a superb ice cream parlour. Worthy of a wee wander around and there are many nice walks from the centre, including along the Speyside Way.
Clean very small village so clean who have won Flowers in boom award the flowers on show in the village were beautiful it was nice to see the little truck going around and watering all the flowers on show at night.Lovely scenery and I walked in so many directions with my dod excellent.Good base to stay in in with plenty of outlying areas to visit ie Elgin Inverness Nairn friendly shopkeepers .Supermarket bank plenty choices for eating out
Having stayed at The Red Lion was a highlight of my trip. The kindness and help that the manager and staff gave me made me fully enjoy Fochabers, its surroundings and the Speyside way as well. I give it the highest score
The hotel was very conveniently located, particularly for people wanting to visit the walled garden at Gordon Castle. The dining room served an excellent dinner. The room was very clean and the bed was very comfortable.
Comfy, homely, clean and beautiful gardens / grounds. Cafe great too. Near to Fochabers. Group of friends held a murder mystery game in dining room. We had a great time. Planning our return.
