On the banks of the River Thames, The The Swan at Streatley is set in a picturesque Berkshire village and dates back to the 1700s. It features a terrace and free WiFi. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay. The rooms, staff and and atmosphere excellent. The restaurant attached was wonderful
Located in Reading, 14 mi from Madejski Stadium, Bull Inn features accommodations with a restaurant, free private parking, a bar and a garden. We stayed here just last night, unfortunately it was a flying visit as we were only in the area briefly on route to an visit an elderly relative so we didnt get to explore this charming place as much as we would of liked. The staff were welcoming. The little chalet style accommodation we stayed in was lovely. Very cosy traditional style furnishings which I always prefer to these ultra modern rooms...so much more character and cosiness. The inn itself is set in such a beautiful setting having never visited the area we were very surprised....a beautiful place and a lovely stay we will be back again. Also extremely good value for money. Y
Set in Frilsham, The Royal Oak, Yattendon features a restaurant, bar, garden, and free WiFi throughout the property. The units in the hotel are equipped with a kettle. Very difficult to get to property from M4 motorway. Some form of direction on Booking.com site would have been helpful
After stumbling across Goring last September we fell in love right away. Such a peaceful and pretty village. We very much enjoying the Catherine Wheel pub, Miller of Mansfield and the Pierreponts cafe. I find it an typically quaint English village that meets all your needs. We also enjoyed a trip on the River Thames cruises which departed Goring on the Sunday and this just rounded up or trip perfectly.
Charming village, but not a useful place to shop. What is really wonderful about this location were the walks, especially along the Thames path to Wallingford (to the north) and Pangbourne (to the south). I stayed at the Miller of Mansfield, where the food was FANTASTIC. Everything I had from my breakfast porridge to lunch to dinner was amazing. There is a very talented chef there!
Is a must for relaxing and Thames River walks and a must for George Michael fans to visit the Legends house the view from the back garden by the Thames is a must.., Visited the Miller of Mansfield pub excellent food very pricey but this is a Michelin star restaurant treat yourself.... The following evening a trip up to the Bull Pub was a treat Saturday night 2 meals off the menu and a bottle of Hardys wine £20 yes £20 the Steak (Rib Eye) best iv had in ages with extras and 2 puddings £28 superb
What little time I spent in goring I found it to be very picturesque and the people very friendly. Great cafe near to the bridge. Cartwheel pub had good atmosphere. And Marvellous hair company did a fantastic job making me perfect for the wedding I was going to.
Goring on Thames is such a beautiful, peaceful place. A very relaxed atmosphere, with friendly locals. The walk on along the Thames is very beautiful and relaxing. Great places to eat - Pierremont Cafe, Catherines Wheel, Miller of Mansfield. For a solo traveler who enjoys time and space to just be, it is perfect! For everyone who loves George Michael, his beautiful energy is felt here.
This village is really so charming. Everything you expect from rural England with gorgeous houses, nice pubs, river passing by, Saxon church and off course the house where George Michael passed away on Christmas day 2016.
