Located 20 minutes’ drive from Middlesbrough, Gisborough Hall is set in peaceful private grounds. It offers a spa, a bar and an award-winning restaurant. Parking and Wi-Fi are free. Breakfast was first class and dinner was excellent value for the deal we got with booking .com
Fox & Hound Hotel has a restaurant, bar, a shared lounge and garden in Guisborough. Free WiFi is available and private parking can be arranged at an extra charge. Staff were brilliant! We arrived late and they agreed to keep the kitchen open for a little while longer for us.
Located in Guisborough, Inviting 2-Bed House in Guisborough plus sofabed provides accommodations with a TV. Free WiFi is featured throughout the property. It was a beautiful house so comfortable everything you could possibly need. Can’t recommend the stay here enough. So pleased made our weekend break. Thanks to Jane x
Two otstanding restaurants (Scarletts and Cookfellas) in an attractive small town. Ideally placed for visits to Staiithes and Whitby on the coast, Riveaulx Abbey and the Ryedale Folk Museum. Fine drives over the moors and down the dales.
As we were only there for one night to attend a family event we did not get to spend much time exploring the area, however, the nearby priory would of been on my list to visit, some of the buildings showed the age of the town which was very clean and everyone we did bump into (including 2 lovely police officers) were charming and welcoming.
The pubs are canny especially the Iron Miners Wetherspoon worth a visit. Not keen on the highly recommended Cookfellas over rated and over priced. But I would recommend the amazing Badgers next door for breakfast ...out of this World. Guisborough has plenty for a short break. We will be coming back.
A very relaxing place to spend time during the week, something to bear in mind is that if staying at the weekend, the Hotel is geared up towards weddings and large social events. Bus stops are at the end of the drive, and the town of Guisborough is only about half an hour's walk away.
Fantastic Market Town full of interesting buildings. Small shops situated in interesting little side streets a welcome change from City life, long may they continue . Many varied and excellent places to dine within all price ranges. The pubs, especially The Ship in Westgate provided free entertainment on many nights with colourful locals providing a great welcome.
Forget the elegance of the structure, the entrance, reception, the rooms, the layout - it's the staff who really make this such a friendly and relaxing place to stay. Located to easily afford access to the coast (Whitby), the moors (and the NYMR), local shopping in the nearby town, and main shopping (Middlesborough) this magnificent hotel may seem pricier than others, but trust me, you get what you pay for, and the location is superb for a short stay break or longer.
Very clean and fantastic staff.
