The location was perfect for our needs. The self checkin-in was easy. The two bedrooms on the second floor were beautifully decorated and very quiet at night (loved the shower and thick towels). We were in town as thru hikers along Hadrian's Wall and very much appreciated the special mat on the first floor to leave our hiking boots. We would gladly stay here again.
Haltwhistle was a nice town with enough to see and do.
Haltwhistle was a nice town with enough to see and do. We enjoyed our walk out to Hadrians Wall, despite the lack of sign-posting for walkers in town. It was a shame that shops in town appeared to close early in the afternoon, however being a small town it was to be expected

Haltwhistle is a lovely little town with loads of independent shops as well as a chemist, Co-op and Sainsburys. There are loads of places to eat out in Haltwhistle, we had a lovely evening meal at the Manor House Hotel and Restaurant, with excellent service and delicious food. We also had breakfast at Bonnie's which was really good. People are very friendly and helpful in the town. Don't forget to get the infamous photo at the centre of Great Britain!

Haltwhistle was a great location to access Hadrians wall and the Roman forts , we were there on May bank holiday Sunday and almost all the town was shut up except a couple of restaurants and a co op shop. On BH Monday there was one pub serving food and they had shut the kitchen by 7.15 pm having run out of food. I found the town deserted which was a shame. We ate in Jethros cafe on the Sunday night which was great , lovely food and waitresses , can recommend that cafe.

The town is marketed as being the geometric centre of Great Britain. It may well be. It is ideally situated a short drive from Hexham and roughly midway between Carlisle and Newcastle. It is a small town close to Hadrian's Wall and the associated ancient sites. Nightlife is limited as one might expect from a small town. Well worth a visit.

A pleasant and friendly small town ideally positioned to explore Hadrians Wall and a great place to base a walking, cycling and mountain biking holiday.
Additionally some great driving roads and little traffic.
Some good pubs locally or within a short drive or cycle.

Overall, this was a great little hotel right in the middle of Haltwhistle. The breakfasts were cooked individually and the staff were helpful and courteous. The room was modern, clean and tastefully decorated with a window that opened to let in the air. Having a restaurant with home cooked meals was an added bonus for this hotel
The check-in process was quick and the staff gave us a warm welcome. We booked an evening meal at the hotel when we arrived - the food was very good. We had three rooms booked - a double, a twin and a family room. All the rooms were very clean and spacious. Breakfast was also very good. We would stay here again.
A lot of thought had gone into the quality of the items you might need during your stay. It competed with budget hotel chains on price and provided a quiet comfortable environment to stay in.
Everything was provided. Rear garden was good for the dog. Excellent location for dog walks out the back of property.
Haltwhistle has everything you need with good transport connections.
