Everything about this stay was exceptional! The owner's communication was welcoming and friendly, and he ensured that guests had the best experience possible. The space itself is so close to everything you need in Stromness, plus a short drive to some of the heritage sites. Coorie Vie has been decorated with love and care, and everything you could possibly need had been provided. Plenty of parking is available and I felt very secure. Fresh, clean, and simply a lovely stay. I highly recommend it!

Breakfast was great. Location was coinvent to shopping and local restaurants. Parking was a little hard. Public car park nearby, but had to get free ticket every hour till 5PM, then free all night. Out the next morning. Small town and able to get our clothes washed in a nearby laundromat.

During my recent visit to Orkney, I had the pleasure of staying at the Kirkwall Hotel. This historic property exceeded expectations on all fronts. Exceptional Staff: The staff at the Kirkwall Hotel were incredibly professional and supportive. Their attentiveness and willingness to go the extra mile made my stay truly memorable. From assisting with taxi arrangements to facilitating an extended stay due to a missed flight, their genuine hospitality was exceptional. Unmatched Location: The hotel's location is unbeatable. Situated in the heart of Kirkwall, it provides convenient access to a variety of amenities. Lidl, Tesco, restaurants, souvenir shops, and the magnificent Magnus Cathedral are all within easy walking distance. Historic Charm: The Kirkwall Hotel itself is a treasure trove of history. The corridors are adorned with captivating historic pictures, offering a glimpse into the past. A particularly delightful surprise was the beautifully preserved guest register dating back to 1948, adding a unique touch to the ambiance. Peaceful and Inviting: My room was impeccably clean and offered a serene atmosphere, free from any disruptive noise. The view of the harbor was an added bonus, providing a picturesque backdrop to my stay. Our visit to the Orkneys on our adventure through Scotland wasn't planned, but with a last minute booking we were lucky enough to be able to spend a couple nights at the wonderful Orkney Hotel! This historic inn far exceeded our expectations. We particularly loved spending the evenings in the bar tasting some of the literal thousands of bottles of whiskey decorating the walls. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the Scottish breakfast was delicious. I would highly recommend a stay at the Orkney Hotel on your next visit!

Well worth the ferry ride and then some!

Well worth the ferry ride and then some! Between Stromness and Kirkwall, neolithic and medieval ruins, beautiful scenery, the creative trail, educational opportunities, shops and cafes and restaurants and bars, there is so much to see on the Orkney Islands -- we just barely scratched the surface. We didn't even get off the main island, much to my regret. Seriously: However much time you're planning to spend here, double it, then triple that. It still won't be enough.

Situated in a stunning location, the hotel had everything I could have asked for. Great food, a nice bar and warm friendly staff. Even provided us with a packed lunch as we had to leave before breakfast on the last day to catch our ferry.
