Friendly and a bonus to stay at a B&B run by a genuine local. Alan used to be a dairy farmer (Ayrshire cattle) as well as rearing Close Wool Cross sheep). I think that's why he appreciates that travellers want a good 'proper' English breakfast. The fried potato cubes are very moreish). The room temperature was just right. No bath in my room but the shower pressure was fab and full temperature control. The WiFi in inclusive. Password provided so you don't need to ask. Parking right outside. Way cheaper than PI and also better value than TL by the time you put any extra on / pay for separate parking.. but most importantly good old fashioned customer service. I arrived late but was greeted by Alan which was really appreciated. All for £50.

Fabulous breakfast! Accommodating options for dinner especially when one comes without wheels so can only eat in town. Lovely room. A treat to have tea & coffee (plus biscuits) available at any time. Should I ever find myself returning to this area, I won't hesitate to stay here again.

What a wonderful hotel! It's about 500 years old but has been very well kept. Everything is in beautiful shape with the old wood paneling shining and a cozy fire in the fireplace. Our room was large and very clean with a gorgeous view out the window. The staff were all very helpful and they have a good secure place to keep bicycles overnight.

Rory and Julie were exception hosts. Rory went to the trouble to go and purchase a fan as we were there during a very hot weekend and I am a lady of a certain age that overheats easily ;). The cottage however is very cool in the summer and it was a pleasure to go back there after a hot day. I can imagine it would be very cozy in the winter too. The cottage was well equipped with everything we could possibly need and we thoroughly enjoyed our weekend there. I would highly recommend booking this cottage it's location in the village is superb with the village shop and village pub mere steps away. The little extras were much appreciated with Tea, coffee, sugar and milk provide and the lovely touch of a lemon drizzle cake from the local village shop. Thank you so much for a fabulous weekend.

You need to have transport or be able to arrange some as is quite far and on not very pedestrian friendly roads.Otherwise quite idyllic. South Molton is a nice town with some shops and various eateries

Was the perfect place to stay for attending a funeral!

Was the perfect place to stay for attending a funeral! It was a nice relaxing place with some lovely varying routes to and from my sister's and her neighbour's funeral in a nearby village. Lovely drive over the south of Exmoor on a misty damp morning, meeting only one other car on the way!

Alan was very friendly and helpful.

Alan was very friendly and helpful. He had a cup of tea and biscuit for us when we arrived and the room was large and dry clean. It was a beautiful place in the heart of the country side. We saw lots of stars very clearly. It was a relaxing and peaceful stay. We had a lovely breakfast and Alan was always very kind and helpful, a perfect host. We would love to visit again.
