Everything was just fine nice comfy bed. Rooms clean and tidy the owner was Very helpful. Been an elderly person she was very empathetic towards me.If you find stairs a problem this accommodation is on the first floor.
River running through the town is so nice to walk along. Church bells ring each quarter of an hour. Market on street and indoor one as part of shopping centre was interesting. It is near Windermere and we used it as a base to see a few of the lakes.
Kendal is a busy town with lots of cafe’s restaurants and shops, a lot of which are independent. Really lovely. The only downside is the one way system and the extensive roadworks which made driving through the town quite arduous (there was no real going around it).
Everything was great .Kendal was a great place to stay very central for all the lakes between 35 and 45 minutes to get to most other location .And on very wet days .Lots of facilities in Kendal from indoor rock climbing, leisure centre, cinema, and some very excellent cafes, and restaurants.
Kendal is a great place to choose being just on the edge of the Lake District and therefore being a bit quieter than some of the honeypot locations. It has all the facilities of a normal non-tourist town as well as providing a full tourist experience. We loved the small bars, Indie Craft Beer, Fell Bar, Factory Tap and the Brewery Arts Centre (great pizza).
Kendal is a wonderful small town, with the river in the middle. There are lovely walks to do and it's very quiet. It's surrounded by mountains hills, it's just beautiful. The bus station is easy to find and you can go to Windermere Ambleside...other beautiful places But it's very busy even in June
