The Royal Hotel and Bar, hotel in Lancaster

This charming hotel overlooks historic surroundings, The Royal Hotel and Bar provides comfortable, modern rooms with attached bathroom.

There was no breakfast provided but instead there were plenty of fruit, milk, tea bags, cereals, biscuits provided for fruit (large quantities left in a fridge with cutleries and everything) which was really great and felt like having a proper breakfast. Also the room was very clean and bright.

I love lancaster I live here , the property I went to was appalling , looking like something from the eighties , there was damp and deco was that of a old person's, in my eyes that place should not be available to rent

Great town, castle, HMP jail museum to explore and learn about, great beach nearby at Morecambe - £2.70 return train ticket with rail card. Or £2 on the bus. Pretty good for shopping, good selection of cafes, restaurants, and wide choice of stay types and locations. My favs are self catering at The Music room, the Borough hotel and pub, Lancaster house n spa 4*.

There are some interesting buildings and places of interest to visit-the castle for example. Sadly parts of the town are rather run down but it still has some inviting looking eating places. We ate at the water witch on the canal. The food was good and value for money It’s easy to walk around the city centre

Charming historic city with lots to see and do.

Charming historic city with lots to see and do. The city is home to two universities and has over 20,000 students staying at any time so the city is vibrant diverse and appealing. A stone throw from the Lake District and Morcomb so a really great base for moving about but a wonderful city to move in with an abundance of enjoyable attractions, a central bus station to attractions and a main railway station. Lancaster is a really wonderful city.

Very conveniently located for access to the M6 motorway,...

Very conveniently located for access to the M6 motorway, into Lancaster itself, into Morecambe but also inland into the countryside. Rooms are the usual fare – clean and tidy but long corridors and a bit soulless. Food is good. Remember to register your vehicle registration otherwise you get a parking ticket. We weren't told this and have had to appeal against the ticket. If we lose it's a £100 fine.

I use Lancaster University Guest Rooms when I pick up my son from uni. As they are on-campus they are VERY convenient, and whilst they are basic they are also very cheap, which is the main attraction. Functional, and the check-in and out system is straight forward. We have also used these rooms for short Lake Distric breaks. The southern Lakes are only 45 mins away by car and the accommodation is so much cheaper than Ambleside hotels!

Don’t think I’ve ever stopped anywhere quite so welcoming and cheerful. Everyone was so happy and helpful. The hotel was lovely, comfortable and convenient for the university, leisure facilities were lovely and the breakfast and service at breakfast were superb. I just hope my son chooses Lancaster uni to study at so I can stop again soon!
