We met 45 years ago at Leicester Polytechnic, so a great nostalgic trip. Visited old haunts, including the Globe pub and the market which were close to the hotel, and the University campus. Good for a history trip, Richard III and museums and great shopping and cafes.
Most interesting city, with historic sites, lovely parks, great collection of museums all close to each other. Brilliant for shopping National Space Centre Leicester Tigers Rugby stadium, Leicester City football stadium, University of Leicester and De Montfort University for those life changing courses. Lovely mix of cultures that are happy to share their religious festivals with other faiths Three really good hospitals for the not so good times. Really good bus services if you choose to avoid the car Train services to most other areas of the country via main lines.
There is few beautiful places you can visit in Leicester The Retro computing museum The pumping station museum Of course the space centre and its worth while to go see the art and gallery museum.
It's my home city and muched improved than it was 30 years ago. Shopping is good and some lovely attractions now, including Curve Theatre, Richard III Centre and the whole cathedral area. Still lots of works being carried out so a little messy in places. Bradgate and Watermead Parks are beautiful places to walk. The Good Earth Vegetarian and Vegan Restaurent is a fantastic place to eat, it has been going for over 40 years, and this review is from a carnivore!
The Cathedral; the Richard III exhibition and High Cross Shopping experience. We enjoyed days out by train to Oakham and Stamford - both within an hour's travelling distance. Nottingham was enjoyable too as was out arrival bus trip to Market Harborough for the day.
Great little city centre with lots of shops, things to do and places to eat. Really good for young people and groups of friends as theres many bars and restaurants with things going on. I was there for a wedding but had a great time exploring as well.
The room was quiet and the bed comfortable, the bathroom good with all facilities working. The bar was ok. I didn't have any food there so can't comment on that. The WiFi worked well. I was using the record office in Wigston, so the location was ideal for me, Wigston town centre being ca. 15 mins walk from the hotel. More generally, the hotel is both on a bus route and has easy access to the south of Leicester, so would be easy to get into the city centre or out into the countryside.
I always love staying at the Belmont Hotel as the staff are always friendly and welcoming. My room was clean, fresh and a wonderful comfortable bed for which I slept soundly and breakfast was delicious. I will highly recommend the Belmont Hotel to all my friends and family.
I loved the bedding, towels and the shower worked perfectly for 3 people everyday! The room temperature was great. Ideal for those travelling for work and working in the city centre as the location is the best for Leicester.
Location of the hotel is great near the city centre, shops and just down from the station. It was just a one night stay so can't really comment on the facilities but the reception area and bar looked smart and welcoming.
The quietness and customer service. A lady named Farhana is always a bundle of joy. Any problems, she will provide the best customer service. I definitely would recommend this hotel. Parking is easy too!
