Everything in the Riverside Chalet was top spec. It was toasty warm, beautiful and comfortable. The hot tub is amazing, we didn’t even try the sauna. The hosts were fabulous, so friendly and helpful and the welcome pack is so thoughtful.

Everything was awesome! The chalet was comfortable, spacious and suited us well. Food was excellent. Service was top notch - always with professionalism and a smile. The location was everything we'd hoped for, and we called it "the Real Scotland"! Despite the somewhat isolated location, there was plenty to do and sights to see. Country life at its finest.

Patricia was an excellent host. She was attentive and welcoming. Gave great suggestions on what to eat and where to visit. My room was impeccably clean and comfortable. Her choices for a convenient in room continental breakfast was easily accessible and had a variety of choices!

Our room had a view to the sea. Food was lovely. Particularly enjoyed their porridge options at breakfast which were delicious. We also enjoyed the share platter one night and then the amazing three couse dinner the next night. Overall a delightful experience, room, meals, and hospitality were fantastic, thank you Sue and Tom. Would come back in a heartbeat.

Couldn’t fault this property.

Couldn’t fault this property. It was a distance from Stornoway (about 40 mins) but was perfect for seeing the lighthouse, the Callanish Stones, the Black Houses and all the other sights. The pod had everything you could possibly want, especially in the kitchen, and was warm and comfortable. The owner even provided binoculars and books on bird identification. I would highly recommend this property and would happily stay there again. The owner was lovely and very helpful.

Everywhere is pretty remote on the island so a car is needed...

Everywhere is pretty remote on the island so a car is needed. However, from this cottage, you can walk to Port of Ness, port of Stoth beach to swim, Eoropie beach, via a ten pin bowling place and children’s playground and Cross, which has a shop and pub.

A nice wee community.

A nice wee community. A shop, filling station and pub in the area although a fairly long walk away. Public transport was available but we didn't use it as we had a car which I would say is something you need to see Lewis and Harris properly. Small very friendly café almost across the road which is dog friendly which is well worth a visit.

The Cafe about 100 meter away offers excellent choices of...

The Cafe about 100 meter away offers excellent choices of homemade cakes . Sheila and Mark , the owners of the Cafe made us very welcome . The local residents are very friendly . We stopped and chatted to a lady who shared some interesting local stories with us.
