As a base for travelling to Snowdonia, Criccieth, Harlech, Portmerion, Corris, Machynlleth and Barmouth etc. it was perfect. There are eateries and places nearby to access the local beaches. The railway seems to follow the coast and there is a station at Llanaber that you can request as a stop. Barmouth is only a couple of miles away with all it's attractions. We would recommend good walking shoes/boots if you're going to walk into Barmouth along the beach when the tide is in, because for part of the way you will be walking on a bank of stones.

The village of Llanaber is quite insignificant but it is only a couple of miles away from the resort of Barmouth, which itself seems to be quite vibrant. A few miles north will be found Harlech with its spectacular castle. We managed an enjoyable trip to Portmeirion italianate village which is about twenty miles away from Llanaber and is close to both the Welsh Highland and Blaenau Ffestiniog narrow gauge railways.

Beautiful little village along the coast. We mostly toured the whole of snowdonia roads, but it was a lovely place to come back to after a long day out in the mountains! We mostly had dinner down in Barmouth, and enjoyed drinking in the Tilman, and dinner at The Last Inn. The Mermaid chip shop left a lot to be desired. While we were in snowdonia we went to a slate mine with Go Below which provided some amazing memories, and challenging opportunities! And we rode the forest coaster with Zip World, all in Betws-y-coed (my favourite place in our stay) we also went to Fairy Glen for a wander a couple of times trying to capture some scenic photography but with my photography skills or the weather didn’t allow any amazing results!!

It was a lovely, comfortable room with stunning views. A warm welcome and very accommodating hosts made the stay feel more special. Beach is easily accessible and in walking distance with lots of Sandy space. A couple of nice places to eat nearby. Peaceful, quiet with easy access to Barmouth.

Llanaber is within walking distance to Barmouth and close to the sea. We ate in The Last Inn in Barmouth which serves tasty food with a good selection of real ales. Davy Jones Locker in Barmouth is very quaint and close to the harbour, great for a cup of tea and a tea cake. Llanaber is a good area for walking with great views in the hills.
