Butt Lodge offers accommodations set in Lochranza. Free WiFi is available throughout the property. Lochranza ferry terminal is 1.2 mi away and Brodick ferry terminal is 14 mi away. Very clean and friendly stay at Butt Lodge. Cath and Mac were excellent hosts and really went the extra mile for us. We had dinner one night which was absolutely delicious! Breakfast was really great too. Rooms were very clean and tidy, with significant Covid measures in place at the moment too. We both slept very well. We got stuck on Arran an extra night to what we planned due to exceptionally bad weather, and Cath and Mac were very helpful in making sure we still had somewhere to stay. Thank you both!

Facing the beachfront in Brodick, Shore Lodge features a shared lounge and a garden. The hostel offers both free WiFi and free private parking. Had a lovely stay! The community rooms for hanging out, cooking and eating were all especially comfortable and clean!
Beautiful North Arran! do yourself a favour and walk here from another part of the island; opt for either coastal or hill walks to get there. You'll be rewarded with beautiful scenery all the way, including waterfalls. Be patient, and you'll also be rewarded with amazing wildlife; seals, deer & stag, a range of birds, and if you're very patient......sea otters!
This is a small community around three sides of the Loch shore. It can be busy so booking accommodation and meals in advance is recommended. Any visit to Arran should include look around Lochranza to experience the magnificent scenery and wildlife. PS. We ate at the local hotel, the campsite has a good restaurant but was fully booked. Golf, walking, cycling and a distillery visit are amongst the many activities possible.
Fantastic location and excellent facilities. I was in hospital day before I arrived. The staff were hospitable and compassionate and my stay was relaxing and just what the doctor ordered lol brilliant staff you should be proud of them!!!!!
The town is charming, hauntingly beautiful and peaceful. Cannot take a bad photo. The Hostel is very clean, quiet and well organised. The coastal walks are stunning in the variety of rock formations, wildlife and the sea. I saw seals, sea birds and white swans as well as stunning little stone nooks for boats to moor. And amazing sculptures dotted here and there. I self catered- the local co-op is well stocked with fresh and healthy food. The bus service works well. I especially love that dogs are welcome. For a solo traveller it’s a treat to be able to get dog lovin’ A long way from home.
Lochranza is a quieter part of Arran, surrounded by mountainous terrain. It has beautiful views across the water to mainland and also the ruins of Lochranza castle which is very picturesque. As it’s a small place there’s not a lot of places to eat, but I would highly recommend the Lochranza Hotel for the best fish and chips! If you book early enough, there’s a little Italian called the Stags Pavillion too. Lochranza boasts wildlife, you will see plenty of deer on the golf course. In July there were lots of stags all grouped together, now in October it seems to be mating season and it’s all of the does that occupy the course. Lots of sheep wander the area too. If you’re lucky, you may get to see a sea otter along the coast, I was lucky enough to see one further round from the ferry terminal a couple of days ago! If you cross the ferry to mainland from here, you may also see dolphins/porpoise.
A very relaxing place. Lots to see and wildlife in abundance, they are very much part of the island life human and animals sharing the environment amazing. Hospitality is second to none. Can recommend stag pavilion for a meal but must book way in advance.
