The property is 500 years old. Very charming, lovely building. The bedroom and bed were very comfortable. The front desk staff was very helpful and pleasant. I had a very nice short stay to attend a Christmas show nearby.

Long Melford is such a lovely place, the main street is idyllic and there are plenty of good pubs, restaurants and cafes. The Hare Inn is minutes from The Annexe by foot, serves excellent food and is really welcoming. Long Melford Hall and Kentwell Hall, both in the village are wonderful attractions and the surrounding area is full of beautiful villages.

Free parking on the roadside - Wow!

Free parking on the roadside - Wow! An amazing old suffolk market town, with historical buildings, countryside and pubs/hotels, close to Sudbury and a host of other splendid villages. The church is one of the best in Suffolk and The Hall under the care of the National Trust is well worth avisit.

Having stayed in Long Melford many years ago it was an ideal opportunity to revisit. Plenty of places to eat, drink or just watch the world go by. Great views from the top of the village. We visited the National Trust Hall, again a lovely setting and back story.

Worth a short visit, nice little high street.Antique shop but very expensive.Couple of coffee shops. May be a problem parking in high street when summer time. Good location for National trust. Melford Hall which has plenty of history with a free guide and a tea rooms with some outdoor seating which was very nice.

Friendly village with good selection of shops and pubs and two large antique centres. We enjoyed a walk through the watermeadows next to the River Stour. Amazing church whether or not one is religious. My brother used to live there so I knew what to expect.

We already knew Long Melford quite well before this visit.

We already knew Long Melford quite well before this visit. It is a delightful large village/small town with nice shops and several excellent pubs (even if most are Greene King ones, so there is little variety of ales etc.!). The church is magnificent and worth a journey of itself. Then there are Melford Hall and Kentwell Hall! Both very special, moated Tudor/Jacobean country houses. Given it's proximity to such fabulous places as Cavendish, Clare, Bury St. Edmunds, Lavenham and a number of other delightful Suffolk and East Anglian towns and villages, Long Melford is a delightful place to stay.

Great location for us. Fab place and very comfortable . Really lovely touch with all amenities. Shower stuff and kitchen bits too. Would definitely come back again. Would love to come back in the summer and make use of the beautiful garden. Great location for long melford and lavenham and we also went up to woodbridge. Slept ever so well and nice a quiet place.
