A wonderful hotel with attention to your every need, even a jug of fresh milk to enjoy tea in our room. The restaurant had marvellous breakfasts so we did not need to eat again before the sumptuous evening meal.. the village is charming and we enjoyed the walk from Lower to Upper Slaughter. The area around has so much to offer from the Cotswold Distillery to the nearby Batsforf arboretum.
Having a disabled husband it's always a worry when trying somewhere new but we needn't of had any concerns as our room South Lawns had everything we needed and more. We would not hesitate to recommend this hotel and can't wait to return- even the weather didn't put a damper on our break away!!
Lower slaughter is simply beautiful. It was a pleasure to be in such a peaceful little village where a slice of old England has been frozen in time . We visited at the end of June so the countryside looked lush and green, a great time to visit .Take a stroll along the river and soak up the atmosphere, pass the beautiful water mill and back past the little cottages. It’s a great after dinner walk. If you ever need to escape head for lower slaughter.
Pretty Gardens with babbling brook, very private accomodation, we ate breakfast and fish and chips in our rooom, but more in outdoor settings away from the Hotel as food was not available. Walking in Lower Slaughter was fabulous to the mill and beyond, and to Boughton on the Water. The dog and both of us had a wonderful time.
friendliness of staff , location, quality and presentation of meals were all worth recommending. The accommodation was fine but just a couple of things would have made a difference as detailed in my review.
I wrote a review last week as I was furious about the flashing light above my bed keeping me awake. However, the brilliant GM Steve, patiently explained the health and safety of their guests is paramount hence the need to have carbon monoxide detectors in each room. I’ve tried to change my review but Booking.com don’t seem to have an editing option. I highly recommend the area and hotel.
Lower Slaughter
This is the quintessential essential stay in the Cotswolds. Step back in time and enjoy the beautiful countryside. Lovely stream goes through the town and you wake up birds sing. Staff was delightful. Walking distance to Bourton-on-the-Water for another experience and great restaurants.
Lower Slaughter
We love this property, high end hotel in a great location. We stayed in the rose room and was the most comfortable bed I have slept in. Walks and views are fabulous.
