Our 'Blue Horizon' boutique Holiday Apartment is located within Marine House, an Art-Deco style building, constructed in 2010, located on the seafront at the end of Hurst Spit, just half a mile from...

The room was exceptional with sea view and wonderful sunsets. Extremely modern. We had breakfast at the Lighthouse Restaurant as no breakfast or facilities provided with the accommodation. The room included a small table and two dining chairs but nothing more relaxing to read or watch TV. Very safe car parking adjacent the building. We really did enjoy our three-nights stay.

Lymington is a lovely town in the New Forest.

Lymington is a lovely town in the New Forest. It has a lot of shops, restaurants and other amenities that many (most) other New Forest towns don't have and this makes it excellent for those who wish to use it as a base or explore Lymington itself. We visited just before the Summer holidays in July and I can imagine it becomes VERY busy in peak summer months. Parking was not an issue at our time of visiting, but I imagine it could be hard during late July/August. Lymington has plenty to do; a lovely marina to explore, arts venues, shops. Be aware that because everything is centred around tourism here, many shops open from 10am-4pm

Lots of shops both small specialist ones and the usual chains. Historic buildings, beautiful flower beds, working port with links to the Isle of Wight, great golf course with excellent crazy golf and pick your own strawberries, plenty to do.

Lymington is a lovely little town.

Lymington is a lovely little town. It’s got plenty of shops to pop in (both local and some bigger brands) as well as loads of different cafes and restaurants to eat at that offer loads of different cuisines. As it’s a seaside area it also has plenty of ice cream shops and little gift shops too. The natural beauty around Lymington is amazing too. You can walk along the Solent, get views of the Isle of Wight, talk a small drive and be in the New Forest where you can see so many beautiful wild ponies, or sometimes spot wild otters (although sadly we missed them on our trip). There’s a farmers/craft market every Saturday. There’s boat tours (some are pirate themed) from the harbour. And everyone seemed very friendly! Bonus - everyone all seemed to have a cute and friendly dog too :)

The main street has a wide range of local shops as well as some high street brands. It is worth a stroll up the hill to window shop or browse. My wife spent some time in several small but interesting clothing shops. Towards the top of the hill we found a wonderful little coffee shop/cafe with half the space used for unusual bric-a-brac and gifts. The range of food was excellent for such a boutique place. It is located down a narrow side street that has several ''Tree of Life'' motifs along the wall but a chalk board on the pavement identifies it's location. It is called The Nut House and I recommend it to anyone in need of some refreshment. The street down to the harbour wall has some quaint houses, cafes, ice cream and gift shops and the area around the harbour wall is very tranquil and has a fair amount of bench seating looking out over the river. Just outside the main shopping area is a Waitrose superstore for anyone wanting a bigger shop. The walk from Elmers Court along the main road, past the ferry port, over the river, to the harbour is about 1.5 miles. On the way you pass The Ferryman pub which has an extenisve menu and a restaurant with a lovely atmosphere.

There is a market on Saturday which was good to walk around and see what it has to offer. The high street is closed off for this too. We had dinner in the King's Head pub, a friendly local pub and the food was lovely and drinks were reasonably priced too. The marina was lovely to sit and have a coffee whilst watching the boats and ferries. There is a Tesco Express in the high street for anything you might have forgotten.

The Bosun's Chair is an excellent location for exploring Lymington and takes 5 minutes to walk into the centre. The room was large, light and clean and all the staff were lovely. Free car parking was a bonus too. I would definitely recommend the hotel and would stay here again.
