Not my first stay this one was dreadful. Illegal lorry and van parking outside of room caused all the noise and lack of sleep issues. Engines running switching on and off, drivers talking, sorting out trailers in small hrs, horns going on small hrs. Must be regular thing as no shortage of vans and lorries stopping there for hours at a time instead of using lorry Park further away. Heating not working room very cold. No one responding to complaint left on voice mail and in surveys. Clock broken in room, given one bath towel no hand towel. No additional blanket for cold.
I only went to visit Leeds Castle. I thought about visiting the town but was put off by the many motorways and main roads. It didn't seem very accessible. A visit to Leeds Castle is doable in an hour. Spending much longer is a waste of time. There are better places to go locally: National Trust, Hever Castle ... this is very limited. I can't comment on the inside of the castle - that would have m,eant waiting another 45 minutes before I could go home and get some sleep after a dreadful stay.
We visited Leeds Castle, we were so impressed. The grounds were immaculate, Castle beautiful and what a setting. Crazy golf and play areas for children brilliant. Plenty of food and drink outlets. Last but not least Bird of Prey show very well narrated.
The reason for our stay was to go to headcorn for a spitfire flight so maidstone was not our priority. We were not impressed with it anyway, the river was nice, but facilities poor, not cafes open, a bit scruffy and run down, we were dissapointed with maidstone.
It was lovely’ bed was so comfortable’ and spacious’ nice to fall into after a long drive’ the shower and bath were superb’ decor was a bit tired ‘ we couldn’t have patio door open in the night to let fresh air in ‘ because people were outside smoking’ not a fan of air condition in the room ‘ we had a meal in the restaurant’ meal was very tasty’ parts of the food were really hot ‘ plates were cold ‘
I only stayed for a two days but I could have stayed two weeks. My husband and 9 year old grandson had a great time so much to do out and about, finished off trip with shopping at the mall and a visit to Leeds castle which was unbelievably beautiful with so much for the adults and children. Eating out and about was very good as well, we also enjoyed the Kent life farm, we are still talking about Maidstone, and we don't even live that far away did not know there was so much to do. Definately going back, planning my Christmas shopping and stay there. 🎄
The hotel was consistent with the Hiltons I have stayed at before. We were there for one night, so I did not look around very much. The staff I met were friendly and helpful, check-in was easy, as was check out. I did not eat any food whilst there. I liked the tea making facilities in my room, but missed having complimentary bottled water available. It was a pleasant stay and I would return if I needed to be in the area.
Didn't have hotel breakfasts, as preferred to buy snacks from Tesco Express & Morrison's. I did not hire a car, so I thought the access to these shops, to Maidstone by bus & for relatives in the area to pick me up, was excellent. The bed was very comfortable & room was quiet, so slept very well, with electric fans to help with the warm weather.
We are not first time at Mercure Maidstone Great Danes Hotel. We are an admirers of Leeds castle. So every time when we pay a visit to the Castle, we stay at Mercure Hotel. From the very first time we came to this Hotel, we fall in love with it. It is our favourite Hotel. We are looking forward to come back asap!
The little cabins all face onto a grass area, so unlike a hotel you can leave the door open for some fresh air. Staff were very friendly. Breakfast was good. We didn’t have evening meal but the menu did look appetising. Good value, about 10 minute drive from Maidstone. Plenty of parking. Dog friendly too !
Room was very spacious and well ventilated. Comfortable beds and linen. Plentiful towels and washing facilities. Hotel has reasonably good coffee shop and fast food amenities located nearby. Easy to park close to hotel, and secure at night.
We stay at the Maidstone Village Hotel at least once a year as family live near by, so for us, the location is perfect in terms of motorway & visiting the property.
Location is very nice, the hotel facilities are excellent, parking was good, and the staff were friendly and helpful.
The staff were friendly and location of the hotel was good. It was walkable distance to Maidstone city centre.
Location close to station and town center. Outside space garden.

The apartment is in a Beautiful listened property, the living room is over looking manicured grounds, my apartment was extremely comfortable, housing two double bedrooms plus one with en-suite, and additional bath room with WC. My bed room was just what I need for a restful night, mattress was extremely comfortable 5 star Hotel quality, with Egyptian cotton bedlinen. Living room was huge with dining area and separated kitchen. I would definitely stay in this property again if I had to visit Kent, the host is really thoughtful and gives very good clear instructions on picking up keys and getting to the property. I highly recommend staying at this property if you get a chance. X
