The staff team were very friendly and helpful. We were attending a wedding at the venue so accommodation on site was key. The hotel communal spaces were beautiful and the grounds well kept. Parking is straightforward and easy. Breakfast was included and was lovely on both days.

Roy and Sue are the hosts of the Griffin. They are the reason I gave such a good review. They are welcoming and kind. They went out of their way to make sure we were looked after. The pub had friendly locals that added to our experience. The room was clean and quiet.

As is typical for most UK properties this one is located on a suburban street. In the UK there are virtually no footpaths. However it is a quiet atreet and there is virtually no traffic noise. Neibours I met are friendly and helpful.
Once I had navigated the key pad ( a new experience for me) to obtain the fron door key I had to work out how to unlock the and then relock the door. Again an entirely different key/locking system to what I am accustomed to. A phone call to the host sorted this out.
Entrance to the flat is up a narrow stair case. As an older single traveller this was a slight challenge.
The flat is roomy, clean.
It is well equiped with all the usual requirements.
Host Leon is a very helpful perosn. Due to my personal circumstances I had to make somechanges to my schedul. Leon was understanding and helpful

Stone Eater is a fine base for activities in the Huddersfield Marsden are of West Yorkshire, especially walks around the Pennines, natural history and the social life and engineering history of the 1750's to late 20th Century.
