Hotel in Morecambe
With beautiful views across Morecambe Bay and the distant Lake District mountains, Best Western The Lothersdale offers free Wi-Fi and limited free onsite parking. I had a very peaceful stay, room was cosy and quiet and clean. I was there over night after a stay in Liverpool hospital to get the ferry the next day so just wanted to chill after a couple of stressful days, the staff were helpful, pleasant, understanding and professional. If I had been there for a pleasure trip I would recommend as great location and the aspect bistro looked lovely and not silly prices.

1640 feet from Morecambe North Beach, Morecambe Rooms is set in Morecambe and offers rooms with free WiFi. The hotel features family rooms. Loved the extra space of an apartment. We were a group of 3 friends staying here for the Vintage by the Sea event so had a quite a lot of luggage as well. Check in was quick and easy at the bar in the Royal pub on the seafront with a lovely, friendly member of staff who also took me round to the apartment as it's in a different building. Great bathroom and living room/kitchen area and comfortable, decent sized bedrooms. Saw other reviews about it being behind a pub that is open quite late at the weekend, however, we had no issues at all with noise. Lots of cafes/pubs nearby in Morecambe for meals or you could make your own! No parking on-site, however, we parked down the seafront all weekend for free, about a 5 minute walk from the pub. We would definitely book again in the future.

We didn't have enough time to explore much of Morecambe - would like to come back to explore more. The seashore is magnificent. Was disappointed the railway station across from the Midland is a tourist/restaurant place. Was planning trips on the train, in my head. We ate at the Midland but would sample other restaurants next time. I feel you could easily 'blow away the cobwebs' at Morecambe. We look forward to bringing the Grandchildren back soon.
This was a pleasant seaside town situated on the spectacular Morecambe Bay. It is full of friendly people who like to walk their dogs, just walk, or fish of the pier. It was very good for short walks and fresh air.
I was only staying over as I had to work 2 long shifts in the hospital so I needed somewhere to sleep and shower; it was winter so dark when I came and dark when I went back home again. I have had a stroll along the promenade and I definitely will try to get some work in the area in summer when I can have a better impression
We went to several pubs around town including The Railway, Kings Head and local Wetherspoons. We also took in the local indoor market to which we found several bargains. Unfortunately I cannot really give more information regarding the rest of the town as the day after we arrived Morcambe went into the high tier bracket so most of the places weren't able to open unless they could operate like a restaurant. Hopefully in the coming months things may get better. Would definately return for another visit.
Since my last visit to Morecombe many years ago, there have been significant improvements with the road network connecting it to the M6. It is now easily accessible and should be considered as an alternative destination to the usual (Blackpool, Southport even The Lake) for anyone wishing to spend a few days away. All of the afore mentioned places are easy to reach if you fancy a day trip. Morecombe is a more relaxed and quieter resort, ideal if you want to unwind, relax and have quality time alone as a couple or with the family with out the distractions and noise (and expense) of some larger resorts. I would certainly recommend and suggest that you wont regret spending a long weekend here.
Morecambe is a very friendly seaside town and you are made to feel very welcome by locals. The Palatine is a very friendly bar with live music and ales, cocktails and lagers. Lots of places to eat and drink on the main parade. Local transport is frequent and lots of buses go to Lancaster and the connections are great to Carnforth and the 555 buses will take you to the Lakes. The railway station is opposite the bus station to get you to lots of places too. There is a Aldi for those who may self cater.
