Newick
Silvergrove is a self-catering holiday home with its own entrance, located in the village of Newick in the East Sussex countryside. Fabulous apartment, stocked with everything you would need, Ann and Paul were friendly and welcoming, probably the best booking I've had on booking.com, the place was immaculate and tastefully furnished 11 out of 10.
Fletching (Near Newick)
Located in the picturesque village of Fletching, this country pub has a large garden overlooking the Ouse valley. The staff were exceptional, all courteous and polite and couldn’t do enough to make our stay wonderful. I think it was the owner who we met at the bar on arrival, he was so warm and welcoming you felt like he was a friend you had known for years. The bar was beautiful and exactly what we were hoping for. Very traditional with a lovely friendly atmosphere where people were happy to chat even though we had never met them before. The only down side to the place…….we were only there for one night but we will definitely return and recommend to all our friends and family.

Cooksbridge (Near Newick)
White Lodge B&B is located in 5 miles north of Lewes, just a 7-minute drive from Cooksbridge Train Station. Ann and Martin were the perfect hosts and couldn't have done more to make our stay better. The breakfast was superb and beautifully laid out for us when we arrived at the table. Our room was large and perfectly furnished - a large screen TV, a nice variety of teas and coffees with a slice of homemade cake each day, and a large comfortable bed. The bathroom was luxurious...as was everything in the house. The large communal lounge was a lovely area to relax in, and given a long warm summer evening, we'd have made use of the roof terrace.

Newick is a lovely quiet, tranquil village with several pubs and restaurants. We enjoyed our meals at Newick Tandoori and The Bull On The Green. Newick is within easy reach of other towns, villages and attractions.
Newick is located really nicely to visit the sites of Sussex and surrounding area. The local pubs are friendly and welcoming and the food is excellent. The Tandoori is also extremely good and well worth a visit. There are footpaths to explore, a nice way to get out and build up an appetite for dinner, we couldn't count all the rabbits we saw.
A typical country village, with the essential conveniences (chemist, general store, pubs, places to eat) yet close to towns, tourist atractions, Brighton and Gatwick. We choose to stay in villages and outside large towns/cities so our holidays when possible, but obviously you need a car.
