I stayed at Rilla Mill not North Hill! Rilla Mill nice and quiet and so near to the fascinating ruined mines at Minions on Bodmin Moor. Very friendly pub with careful, thoughtful seating in these Covid times and a very tasty supper. I would stay there again.
North Hill is less of a destination, very quiet and tranquil, but a good base to visit both coastlines and many places of interest in Cornwall. The pub,the racehorse is very good food and beer, it's a 20 mins walk through country lanes.
A little bit out in the sticks but that is an attraction. A great welcome from attentive owners and staff who were helpful but not intensive as you often get in a small establishment. Great food properly prepared and served, obviously by a chef who knew his stuff. Good location not far from A 30, so fairly easy to get to main attractions if you wanted. Approach lanes are a bit narrow but OK if you drive carefully and take time. Beautiful countryside below Bodmin Moor.
Its a pretty unspolit area, with many lanes for quiet walking. There are a couple of good eating pubs in the area. One being the Racehorse. This area is close to many well known parts of Cornwall, in particular location areas for Poldark!!!!!! To get around a car is a must.
The host of the B and B was very friendly and welcomed us from the moment we arrived....the room and facilities were lovely and clean...we felt very spoiled with our own sitting room...and the bed in the room was a super kingsize ..so much room to stretch and relax...the setting is tranquil and the local pub is a must to visit...the food was astounding...the best we've eaten so far...You won't be disappointed.
Very clean and in a secluded spot off the main roads. Spacious bedroom but a lot of steep stairs and an extra big step down to the shower room which would not suit older people. Good breakfast but no evening meals. Roads are very narrow to the B&B so not suitable for large vehicles. There is a pub nearby but was very expensive and to be honest we did not enjoy the meal.
