Located within 6.7 miles of Kingsholm Stadium and 21 miles of Cotswold Water Park in Painswick, St Annes Bed and Breakfast provides accommodations with a flat-screen TV. quaint quirky and so friendly - a lovely little room and fantastic food.
Beautiful warm honey stone buildings. Friendly resedents lovely place to have a wonder round. Little church with 99 beautiful yew tree in the church grave yard. ( You may think that's grim, it isn't it's so well kept).
Very pretty, historic Cotswolds town, but pubs and restaurants are not too numerous and not cheap. We opted for the corner supermarket to get some sandwiches from that we had on a bench in the park. Public transport available (e.g. bus 66 runs about every two hours). Right on the Cotswolds Way.
It was a beautiful village with a churchyard full of 200 year old Yews. I was surprised there were very few shops such as cafes, delis etc. There are a couple of pubs and the Falcon has really good food although on the pricey side. There was a 'pooch' cafe that was closed and a village hall cafe (again closed). The Rococo Garden is worth a visit and this was used as an overnight stay on our retuen from Cornwall. I would probably choose a livelier village next time.
Painswick is idyllic with stunning views. You are very close to other places like Rococo Gardens, Tetbury, Bilbury and Stroud Town Centre. We found the people very friendly and places we visited absolutely gorgeous, just like a picture postcard. Definitely worth visiting!
Painswick is a very small town, and so it is not fair to expect the kind of amenities and facilities that exist as a norm in large towns and cities. There are a few places to eat - we ate at both The Falcon and St Michael's Bistro. But my main reasons for choosing to stay at Painswick were, one: simply because I had never been there before and I wanted to have a look at it, and two: because it was a good base from which I could take my son to zoos and animal centres in the area.
Beautiful small quirky, quiet, historic village. Use the main village car park as village streets very narrow and parking very limited. Be aware of high demand for restaurant/eating out options in village, but there are further options if willing to drive. Pretty countryside location, great for exploring Cotswold villages and towns.
Painswick
Beautiful airy and clean flat in the centre of Painswick. The flat had some lovely original features and it was perfect for 5 guests. Plenty of room and the bedrooms were all great sizes. They flat had everything we needed from a dishwasher to a washing machine and some clear instructions from the host. They even had games which was a great touch, especially as we were spending new years here. The flat was a perfect location for walks around the Cotswolds. Couldn't have asked for a better stay!
Painswick
Dove Lodge itself and the surrounding gardens were stunning! Having breakfast and looking at the garden in the morning was a particular favourite of mine. It was extremely clean and the hosts (Peter and Judy) were so lovely! Painswick itself is beautiful but definitely need a car as not a lot to do in the area. We took our 6 month cockapoo which the lodge was perfect for. I would 100% recommend this lodge and would love to stay again!!
The cottage is perfect! My wife walked in and said, "This is my English country vacation dream come true." Everything was beautiful, incredible views on both sides of the cottage....fantastic location in the Cotswolds. Extremely charming and cozy. We always had parking very close to or directly in front of the entrance. Great experience! Highly recommend!
Painswick
This is a fantastic little retreat in a beautiful location. The room we stayed in was exceptional, beautifully decorated and very comfortable, would desperately have liked a fan though ito help ease the heat. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious . A real treasure of a hotel. The bistro food was fabulous, thoroughly enjoyed it.
Painswick
Beautiful house very close to the centre of Painswick. Breakfast was great - plentiful and delicious. Both a fruit salad and an English cooked breakfast are made to order, daily. Staff are lovely and can make good recommendations regarding what to see and do, locally. There is a resident dog, too, called Boo, who is lovely.
Painswick
Painswick is a typical Cotswold village and Croft House is a old stone built property. Martyn, our host was very friendly and welcoming and the continental breakfast was excellent. Our room with an on-suite bathroom, which was an extension to the original property, was spotlessly clean and well appointed.
Painswick
