Located in Pleshey, 18 mi from Brentwood, Acreland Green features a garden and free WiFi. Host went out of her way. I arrived late (after flight delay and M25 traffic) and nearby pub was closed. Host made me something to eat. Good night's sleep and excellent breakfast.
Featuring free WiFi throughout the property, Littlebrook offers self-contained accommodations in Ford End, 5 mi from Great Dunmow. Free private parking is available on site. This little place was a perfect gem. It had everything that we needed for a couple of nights away. It was so clean and we also had breakfast for 2 days. Lovely little touches like water and fresh orange, milk and butter in the fridge, and fresh flowers. The hosts Jane and Larry greeted us on arrival and at a safe distance and was very accommodating. Would definitely recommend and we would love to stay again.

The Avenues, a property with a shared lounge and a garden, is set in Chelmsford, 6.2 mi from Hylands Park, 1.9 mi from Chelmsford Cathedral, as well as 1 mi from Chelmsford City Council. The property was tidy and smelt nice. There were clear instructions about how to get access to the property and there were welcome gifts.
Beautiful place to stay at very good rate per night. Based in the countryside, it was very quiet and the beds were fantastic so had a good rest. The owners are lovely people and the breakfast cooked for my family was just superb. Looking at the very few not so good reviews done by picky people, here goes. There is now fruit served at breakfast as well as cereal and the most divine cooked option. Many thanks for that and there was more than enough even for greedy me. And yes, there was the odd cobweb but hey, you have massive fields at the back of the property where there is no one to look in. Only thing I can say is book early as you can to avoid disappointment as I have tried to book in the past and unfortunately it has been full.
You really need your own transport as the village is a bit out of the way. Good beer but no food when we went to the Leather Bottle in Pleshey. Good food and beer available at the Rose & Crown, Great Waltham. (Don't use the Beehive)
