Located in the heart of St. Albans, The Samuel Ryder Hotel St Albans, Tapestry Collection Hilton is set in an Edwardian building and features an on-site bar. A very nice little hotel on the High Street of St Albans, which despite our very short sojourn there looked like a really nice town. Despite the historic nature of the building, amenities are modern and well-maintained. The staff were very helpful and friendly, which is not always the case in the UK. Highly recommended.

We happened to be in St Albans on the day of the Vintage Market (which I believe is monthly), which was really interesting to wander around. The cathedral is beautful and free to enter (unlike Canterbury Cathedral which now charges £10) with guides wandering around explaining anything you are interested in plus interactive activities for children, and wheelchair/pram access. We also went to Verulamium park with its ornamental lakes with swans, ducks and a variety of wildlife. We had a very relaxing walk around; even the rain didn't spoil it. A lovely day in St Albans.
Loved the cathedral and walking down and around Verulanium park to the museum -which is a small but fascinating museum amazing mosaics and a beautiful building. The park with the water features are a real bonus. Excellent Sat market and lots of places to eat. We really enjoyed a brunch at The Waffle house nice setting by the river.
St. Albans is the perfect little city in the country, just 20 minutes from London by train from St. Pancras Station or Euston Station. The city is extremely walkable, and I was blown away by the Roman ruins and museum that features all of the Roman era and pre-Roman artifacts that were carefully excavated. The Abbey is spectacular, and that is not the only historic church in St. Albans! The shops and restaurants are top-notch and walking through the ancient buildings is a very inviting experience. Verulamium Park is such a beautiful spot, too.
My husband is nearly 91 so proximity to the Cathedral was important. Very impressive & interesting. We attended evensong which was beautiful. It was an overnight stay . I did not have time to visit the museum and explore the city. A large and busy market on the Saturday.
an historic town, which appeals to me, including a cathedral with it's history. Lots of choices for eating. Park also enjoyable. Sometimes the success of a place brings too many people, certainly the centre was a bit too busy for my liking, but a nice place and crowds are the result I guess.
The cathedral is beautiful and well worth a visit . Lots of restaurants and pubs Verulamium park was nice with play area for kids . Unfortunately the museum was closed on Sunday . Walked round the Roman theatre if Verulamium which cost £3 each interesting
St. Albans
I had what I booked! Everything that was described in the description of the room when I was searching was there. Staff wore masks, social distancing at the breakfast lounge was respected, and the breakfast was fabulous, lots of choices, including fish dishes! They have little pleasant surprises, as leaving sweets in the bedroom. We left the car in their parking, and we visit the city and met with an old friend as the hotel is in the middle of the city, still being in a busy area, the noise was reduced by double glaze.
St. Albans
The shower and shower room was lovely. The kitchen is really special, reminding us of a holiday cottage our family used to have. It was easy to get to the City Centre from the accommodation. The croissants and bread. The table and chairs in one bedroom as we used this as a dining table.
Excellent Location, Few minutes walk to the city centre, Lovely views, Had all the things needed. Host was very friendly and responsive. Apartment was very clean and tidy and it looks like a brand new building. Definitely will stay here again and recommend to anyone.

Nice room with a comfy bed. Very friendly and attentive staff. A nice bar area. Didn't make use of the hotel facilities as we were meeting friends, so can't really expand on the good points.
This hotel is fine a for one night after a party, which is what we used it for. It's about 15 minutes a walk from the town centre. The staff are helpful and it's a pleasant enough place.
We love this hotel,it's my preferred choice of hotel above others.I love the decor and the Spa is the best Breakfast also excellent .
The facility was just okay mainly because of the location which is not too far from the city Centre (about 15 mins walk).
Stayed here last September it’s a lovely hotel in a great location in the middle of the city centre.
