Very historic area. Easy walks around town. Quiet and quaint town. Loved it. The park by the Roman ruins is a must. Park is beautiful to walk around. Easy to walk around and people are very friendly.
Lots to see. A lot of history to enjoy. The Cathedral is beautiful with so much history attached to it. The Verulanium museum and Roman Theatre is very interesting. St Albans has beautiful scenic walks.
I wanted to be close to London but not stay there, this was the perfect place. However the train to London and tube system was not a bargain. I found the Verulamium and cathedral to be worth a visit. Good places to eat: Hatch, Foragers and Lussmanns.
Lovely old town with amazing “Abbey Church” (as its apparently properly known), nice shops and cafes and restaurants. Easy walk around, traffic can be slow in the center and parking not ideal. Roman Museum just outside center is very good.
The historic centre is very compact and easily walkable and for a longer walk you can cross the splendid Verulanuim Park to the Roman Mosaic and Museum. There are some excellent restaurants a few minutes walk away - we particularly liked the modern Turkish food at the Tabure on Spencer Street.
St. Albans is charming and the cathedral is a must see. I actually walked from the Noke to the cathedral and back and loved looking at the homes and buildings and speaking with citizens along the way.

White Hart Hotel is on the main drag in the historic section of St Albans, directly across from the St Albans Abbey and within a short walk of the Roman Museum. I enjoyed exploring both of them, renewing fond memories of a visit in 1955. We had our evening meal of traditional dishes in their restaurant and each of us found our choices tasty. The little bar was very welcome, since we arrived fairly late after a long train journey.

Great hotel. Large room with comfortable big bed, big shower cubicle, nice lighting. Kettle, with coffee (very important)😀! Quiet even though just off the motorway. Blackout curtains , iron, etc. Big carpark. The staff were very friendly and most helpful. Really nice choice of breakfast food. I cannot fault this hotel.

Our stay was made all the more pleasant by our host. Our mornings were started with an excellent breakfast and delightful conversation. We would definitely stay at 3 Ragged Hall Lane again for its great location (easy access to area attractions and London by train), a beautiful property, and a welcoming host.
