This is my happy place so I’m biased. Lovely beaches, shops and wide range of places to stay and eat. Parking can be difficult in the summer months but there is a good bus service from the large car park at the leisure centre. Highly recommended
It was nice to take a slow walk about the town exploring both shoreline and back streets . Lots of lovely smells about the place from all the different types of food and drink available. Scoff troff was good quick snack food . For fish and chips takeaway - try up steps by the sloop - they were yummy .
The tiny little gift shops and local art shops everywhere were so fun to wander. I could've tried all the cafes and restaurants for a week here, so much great food and lovely places to walk. We wandered the harbour for the day, but could've easily spent a day at each beach if there weather allowed. Would've like to tackle a few hikes around the area but we ran out of time. I'd definitely recommend for all - families, couples, friends - it's such a lovely little getaway spot. We ate at the Pedn Olva for lunch, and sat at the window for a beautiful view. Food was tasty and simple. Parking and driving in this village area is not advised (streets are so narrow and there isn't really any parking) so would recommend walking into the village.
Love St Ives, it is magical in October as it is much quieter but still has a lovely buzz about it. Great places to eat, drink and watch the world go by. Always book your places to eat as it can be busy at peak times. I would live here if I could. We ate at lots of seafood tapas restaurants and walked along the coastline and saw seals and other wildlife.
St Ives is a picturesque Cornish coastal town that has long been an inspiration and home for artists. The sculptor Barbara Hepworth lived and worked here, and her house and sculpture garden is now a wonderful museum that is not to be missed. Tate St Ives has a revolving programme of excellent temporary art exhibitions, with the gallery building overlooking the stunning Porthmeor beach. Just below Tate St Ives, facing the beach is an excellent café, where you can look out to sea while enjoying a coffee. The town has lots of other good cafés, pubs and eateries and seven lovely beaches to enjoy. If you like walking, St Ives forms just part of the 630 mile South West Cost Path that runs from Minehead in Somerset, along the coasts of Devon and Cornwall, to Poole Harbour in Dorset. It is very easy to walk around St Ives, which has many winding streets hosting independent shops, and you are never very far away from an art gallery.
Plenty to do there, great beaches, some lovely bars and restaurants and different boat rides to suit all. You can walk round everywhere ok a bit hilly take your time and enjoy the views. But beware of the seagulls they are a pain
