Easterhoull Chalets is set in Scalloway. Guests staying at this chalet have access to a fully equipped kitchenette. Great location above the village of Scalloway, wonderful view. We enjoyed our stay very much despite the bad weather (January, violent storm, or, as the locals would say, quite breezy). Have to come back in a friendlier season.

This place was absolutely fantastic- the flat was brilliant and the location ideal. Mark is an excellent host and the amenities were great. We could not have chosen better and would recommend 100%.

Kells roadside is located in Hamnavoe and offers a tennis court. The accommodations is 8.7 mi from Lerwick, and guests benefit from private parking available on site and free WiFi. We loved that staying at Kells felt like staying at a friend's lovely granny flat - we were comfortable and had everything we needed to self-cater. The area around Hamnavoe is beautiful. David our host was great to chat to and suggested some wonderful things to do. He also was able to arrange a very special sea trip from the local harbour.
Featuring accommodations with a patio, Fishers Croft is located in Hamnavoe. The accommodations is 9.9 mi from Lerwick, and guests benefit from complimentary WiFi and private parking available on... We had a fantastic stay at Fishers Croft. Beautifully maintained and well equiped for the two of us. Lots of extras, shampoo in the bathroom, cling film and foil (something I always forget!) an extra fridge/freezer which we didn't use as we were only there for the week, but would definately be useful if staying longer to stock up. Useful to have the washing machine, especially when your husband decides to go for a walk across a bog! Lovely touch to have fresh flowers on arrival, Julie met us as soon as we arrived and made sure we were settled in. Friendly neighbours too. Beautiful location, we spent hours in the evening just sitting in the porch area watching the sea and the sun sets. Can't wait to book again for next year.
Lovely little town. Shetland in general was great! We enjoyed exploring, swimming (v cold!) and visiting local arts and craft shops/ galleries. Food was amazing particularly no88 in Lerwick, worth booking for dinner. Hamnavoe is very pretty and a trip to Bressay for a meal at the Maryfield hotel was fun. St Ninians isle was stunning! Puffins and cake at Sumburgh head a must as was Jarlshof just down the road which I thought was more impressive than Scara Brae on Orkney.
Scalloway is fabulous. The people are brilliant, the views fabulous and there is lots of history too. There are lots of fishing boats and activities to watch and a wonderful sailing boat The Swan. There's a great cafe/bar and restaurant too.
Shetland is a wonderfully peaceful isle. There are some beautiful beaches, some dramatic coastlines, helpful friendly people. Lots of walks, & fishing. Lerwick has lots of Facilities & is just a short drive away. So long as you have plenty of warm layers & good waterproofs 😁
Scalloway is a lovely, small, friendly place. Scalloway Hotel was brilliant for locally sourced foods - fabulous. Easy parking, good quality roads though hilly (of course!). We were there for photography and were not disappointed anywhere on the island that we travelled. Shetland is very helpful towards tourists. It was a long journey to get there, and I would definitely recommend a cabin on the ferry across to Lerwick from Aberdeen. We will definitely travel there again - and use the same base: Easterhoull Chalets in Scalloway.
Scalloway itself has some nice attractions and is close to Lerwick and centrally located for the top and bottom of the island attractions. In Scalloway, there is the Scalloway Museum (fascinating history of the Shetland Bus), and one of 2 castles in the Shetland Islands. A couple of very nice restaurants, be sure to try the Scalloway Hotel. Da Haas by the university was also very good and the wine was cheaper. There is a great wool shop/sweater shop and a really nice market with a real butcher. Much quieter than Lerwick, locals at the Scalloway Hotel bar are very friendly.
Loved the rolling hills, wild flowers on the sides of the road, the small one car roads with exceptionally courteous oncoming drivers, sheep - very few Shetland pony’s! Discovered a long lost relative who lived there - that was quite amazing! Very easy driving and excellent roads. Coffee stops difficult to find!! Very safe for solo travelling,
