Never stayed at a hotel that was so hospitable. Hotel staff constantly took care of us and anything we needed. They really treated us like family and brought us homemade pastries every morning that just made our day. We really appreciated our fridge was stocked with water and milk every day. The restaurant's food is amazing and the atmosphere is so relaxing. The rooms on the top floor were perfect for our stay and had beautiful views of Sheffield. The staff was so helpful at helping me get around town and give me ideas on kid friendly activities around town. Love the location of the hotel as well. You're in walking distance to the Botanical Gardens and Endcliffe Park as well as the downtown boutique shops. Matthew recommended us to visit Graves Animal Park and that was only a 15 minute drive and perfect place for children.

Partially located in the Peak District, Sheffield is best known as the setting of "The Full Monty" and indeed, vibrant Sheffield has everything: excellent shopping, great nightlife and an impressive athletic heritage.
It first became famous during the Industrial Revolution for its pioneering role in the UK steel industry. One technique invented here is commemorated in the name of its most famous theater, The Crucible, home of the Snooker World Championships.
Close by are the peaceful Winter Gardens with their multi-arched roof. The Peace Gardens are overlooked by the elegant town hall, and the focal building of the impressive Botanical Gardens somewhat resembles Crystal Palace, also by the same architect.
The city’s 2 soccer teams – Sheffield United and Wednesday – play at Bramall Lane and Hillsborough Stadium respectively. The cutting-edge English Institute of Sport is also based here, and the nearby Sheffield Arena is a prime UK venue for music and entertainment. A downside to Sheffield is its Caz scheme so if your travelling by car from outside the area be sure to check that your vehicle is compliant or its a fine coming your way via post !!!

Sheffield is not somewhere I would stay again. I didn't feel safe with the amount of drug affected people in the city. We watched two people overdose during the day where there were families walking around.
We did enjoy the Emergency Services Museum.

My dad's car was stolen from the hotel car park and the police told him that he was never going to see his car again. When I researched sheffield after it appears that stolen cars are a big industry up there. Has put a real spoiler on our weekend away watching family swim at ponds forge.

Last in Sheffield in 2008, was amazed at the changes, loved the Rail Station and surrounding landscaping. Everybody was so friendly and helpful. Millennium Gallery is a treat of Art and History (also has free City Map). Peace Garden is spectacular, loved all the water features and around the Town Hall. City Taxis were easy and quick and mostly chatty drivers. Taxi from station was expensive, less than half a mile and even though I gave him full address and post code we drove around for quite a while. Lack of visible street names even with a map we had difficulty getting around on foot, not helped by all the works for pedestrianisation of large areas. Would love to see more, sunshine all the way.

See reviews by guests who stayed at hotels in Sheffield
The hotel was very close to the city centre and a taxi ride was very reasonable, but it could be walked if you have the time. The hotel itself is set in the most beautiful grounds. Breakfast was excellent, lots of choice, hot and plentiful. Staff members were outstanding and their customer service was excellent. The spa, whilst not total luxury, was an added bonus, and we used the facility on both days and we had a very relaxing time. Thanks to everyone for making our mini break wonderful.
The hotel is in a fantastic historic building in the very centre of Sheffield. The room was spacious and very comfortable. Breakfast choice was basic but good, also some vegetarian options available. Especially nice was the kind and courteous staff; they really made us feel at home. Overall, I enjoyed the stay at the Leopold Hotel and would gladly stay there, should I ever visit Sheffield again.
Really friendly staff.
Breakfast was amazing, really high standard.
Hotel is clean, easy to find, I walked from train station, perfect for visiting Sheffield city centre.
