Very comfortable and cosy space with a homely atmosphere. All the amenities I needed. Lovely bed - I had a great night's sleep. Much better than staying at a hotel.

The location was amazing and it was so quiet. It is on the same grounds as the owner who had a lovely home and it was great to be able to say hi to her. Cute little outdoor sitting area which we sat at bathed in the sun for a little while. We forgot to bring out bbq and the owner was lovely enough to dig one out which we used 😁
The Anvil Lodge sits just off the main street, away from the hustle and bustle of the old market town, but an easy walk from pubs, restaurants and quaint shops.

Oh goodness. Chapters restaurant was advertised as a gourmet venue. Despite the young staff being polite the food was not gourmet or well prepared. Ordered chicken supreme which was lukewarm served with chips that had obviously been sitting under a light for hours. Lukewarm sauces. Steak was definitely not the cut we ordered. Bleeding and warm when ordered a medium well. Flank likely when ordered a ribeye, or the purveyor sent the wrong cut, but chef should know better.
Sent it back to reheat and recook. Second waitress came back and invited us to see if we wanted something from the athlete’s buffet. Somehow our request for the meat to be reheated from our first order was forgotten.
So we ordered a hamburger to share with fresh chips. Took forever despite no guests in the dining room. Chips hot but undercooked. Sauce offered in packet. That would have been okay except the hotel advertised a gourmet restaurant. Burger gristly too.
East facing bedroom was incredibly hot. Told some rooms have AC but not ours, sorry. Could not open windows and it was oppressive even though outside was 19 degrees.
Room was clean and small fan was supplied in the closet.
No information about the hotel provided anywhere or at checkin.
Staff are very nice but the venue needs to live up to what they advertise.

Shifnal is a lovely country town situated within easy reach of the major West Miflands cities. Friendly local bars and eateries.
I'm sorry to say it was let down by my stay at the Bell. It was a weekend stay in an Indian Restaurant. I like Indian food but I do not want the smell of it wafting into my bedroom. Furthermore, the carpets on the stairs and landing were in a disgraceful state and, the one in my room was a cord carpet which was sore if you were walking around in bare feet.
Value for money = 3/10

There was nothing good about our stay, Black mould in bathroom creaking floor boards everywhere in room, damp on walls, Ivy growing through window unable to shut window, broken window(piece missing and sellotaped over hole), stained pillows and mattress. Never informed us of a wedding party on last night awake until gone 0100, kids running around between 2315 and 2340, told reception in morning and was told because they were staying in the Hotel they had free reign what they wanted to do, obviously other paying guest didn't matter.

The reception was the worst I've ever experienced.
The reception was the worst I've ever experienced. The owner came to the car park as I was arriving and told me to park on the road since we could not park 2 cars per booking. Fair enough, I complied.
Then came check in time, before he showed us our room, we were standing by the door, he asked us to tell him the time that we will be coming for breakfast. We were also asked to pick our breakfast options that time. The guy is arrogant and rude.
I requested if we could go and drop our bags in the room first, then we have a look at the menu but he declined, demanding that we do it that very moment.
Apart from the poor reception and the bad attitude of the host, the room was very clean.

Shifnal is a beautiful place with some interesting shops, it has an old-school feel with Butchers, a bakery, florists and gift shops plus a craft beer local retailer not to miss.
There were a lot of empty premises and units up for rent/sale which I am sure in time will be snapped up for even more choice of shopping.

Was attending an event at Telford and , not knowing the area took a bit of a gamble ;which paid off really well.Near to the High Street so an evening meal was easy to sort out after the 3 hour journey there.
Spotless, cozy, comfortable Old Stable with very helpful and friendly owners. Extra touches like a jug of fresh milk in the fridge for an arrival cuppa were so appreciated. Discreet and peaceful yet excellent location in the centre of Shifnal
The property does not offer breakfast. However, it is centrally located in Shifnal so cafes and other shops are available. The location is easily walkable to all shops and facilities in Shifnal. The property includes on-site parking.
The warm and friendly welcome. The exceptional room, the best nights sleep that I've ever had in a B&B/Hotel/Guest house.
A lovely leisurely breakfast. Highly recommended 10/10 on every scale.
