The town is historic and wonderful but it is on a hill. The traditional indoor market and the outdoor market are very interesting. This time we went for the flower show and the hotel location and parking was very practical.
Love Shrewsbury have been a few times in the past. First visit back to flower show but this was dis appointing to get back to. No firework display , no red arrows, lots of things cancelled but obviously with heatwave we having may have had an affect. Town square wasn’t decorated with flowers as previously. Sad to see not up to spec.
We went to meet friends a t the Flower Show. Shrewsbury is a lovely town, you can sit out for a drink and eat well. We had a lovely meal in the Golden Cross, one of many mediaeval buildings in the town. But noisy at night, loutish shouting in the streets in the small hours. I would not stay in the centre again.
Shrewsbury is a very interesting city with Abbey, Castle, Cathedral, architecture, walks and river. There is plenty of choice for shopping, eateries and bars. The bus service is good and the city is well signposted for areas of interest.
There are a good number of things to do walk round the town see the castle the museum which was very good the market centre was also good plenty of eating places of very good standard . The river is good to walk along plus take a ride on the boats
Shrewsbury is a charming and very beautiful place to visit. There is something for everyone to enjoy, some wonderful independent shops, bars and eateries and a joy to explore. I would highly recommend.
Shrewsbury
The location was ideal. Close to centre access up Wyle Kop, yet close to the River for walking. it’s not a fully serviced hotel I.e.bar & restaurant, but the breakfasts were exceptional in every way. As a guy with a professional career in top-notch hotels, I was impressed by the staff commitment, attitude and customer awareness. I don’t know the owner, but a slick market product is being presented for just a few extra pounds over the average Shrewsbury hotel. A small niche haven in a fraught world. We’re going back!
the food in the restaurant is fantastic and the rooms are great. only criticism is the rooms at the front and on the road are noisy. also the shower over the bath was awkward to use and difficult to get in and out of. otherwise this is the best boutique hotel in shrewsbury!
Convenient, to everything in Central Shrewsbury, Shops, Pubs, History, walks etc. The apartment is well laid out with 2 bedrooms and bath and shower in 1. Very clean and well kept property. Walk in shower in the other. Wifi works well. We would stay here again! Thanks!
Rooms are quite spacious and clean. Breakfast is ok but a little limited as to choice, its all self service. Hotel is located on the outskirts of Shrewsbury so likely a taxi to the city centre. I used the Peacock pub during my stay which is a twenty minute walk.
Comfortable hotel in delightful surroundings Excellent night's sleep. Very traditional. Good quality evening meal although portion size too generous! Extremely friendly Front of House Manager, Malcolm, who made me feel very welcome.
Historic hotel located in an equally historic area of Shrewsbury. Really atmospheric, reputed to be one of the most haunted hotels in the UK. Staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful, absolutely can't fault them.

Good breakfast. Comfortable, room, Hotel close but not too close to the train station. Close also to main sights in the town.friendly staff and owner.
Nice hotel, nice rooms, friendly, staff, ideally placed right in the middle of Shrewsbury town centre, with its own car park.
