There are plenty of places to eat but not many looked interesting, Cafe Saffron is notably good, and there is a big Wetherspoon's -- always good value for food and drinks. St. Chad's church is worth a visit. We also visited Wroxeter (okay) and the nearby winery (a bit shabby), Attingham park (great) and the museums (good). We could have managed another day. I have failed to take the river boat trip twice now: last lime the Sabrina had a fouled propeller, the river was in flood this time. My son, who's into LP records, recommends the the Oxfam book and record shop.

Amazing architecture, history (Charles Darwin etc), tasty food, coffee shops/book/clothes/🎵 music and natural beauty to see if birdwatching, walking, or hiking....well worth a visit whatever time of year or length of stay. I enjoyed it and it did not work out too expensive: parking is available and reasonable for 24 hours: felt it was a safe place to travel and explore: people were friendly and helpful.

Everything was great. The room was very comfortable and we appreciated the extra little touches - homemade cookies, hot chocolate and coffee bags next to the kettle. The staff were all lovely. We didn't have dinner at the hotel, but the breakfast was fantastic and really extra - a two course breakfast! And it was included in the price! The location was great too, just outside of Shrewsbury and close to a beautiful National Trust property. We only stayed 1 night but we had a great time here.

Fantastic little gem of a hotel. Excellent location for access to Shrewsbury town centre. High standard of cleanliness, and a very comfortable, relaxing room. All staff were very courteous, and the greeting I had from hotel reception on arrival was heartwarming. If I had to be critical I would say hotel parking would seal the deal on this one. There is very cheap parking close-by however which can be used for long stay too.

The hotel is about 11 minutes drive from Shrewsbury town centre. The staff were helpful and friendly. Our room was lovely and clean and the bed was really comfortable. There was plenty of hit water and shampoo and body wash provided in dispensers. The inclusive breakfast was excellent. Nice and hot with plenty of choice. The burger, chips and salad we had in the evening was very tasty.
