Visited this area many times and I love the beaches and the RSPB reserve. Didn't have time to explore the village, and didn't visit the reserve on this occasion, although I have been to see the Snettisham Spectacular several times and it is spectacular. Heacham beach is lovely, despite the adjacent caravan sites and it is possible to walk from there into Hunstanton along a promenade. If you like funfairs, amusements, shops and more bustle then go to Hunstanton
It's no more than a pretty village, but that's what we wanted. There was a cricket match being played with the church in the background when we arrived. The Rose and Crown was obviously a key part of local community life and it felt peaceful and relaxing. We were here 2 nights and just enjoyed the tranquility of the place.
Great spot from which to explore the Norfolk coastline. Lots of lovely coastal walks, great dog friendly pubs and good choice of places to eat. Good food at the Rose and Crown, lovely cosy bars with open fires. Thornham Deli, a really good stop for coffee/ pastries or more hearty meals( and dog friendly)... The Gin Trap at Ringstead does good food and excellent selection of gins... recommend trying St Giles Rhubarb gin.. so delicious we bought some!
Everything was wonderful and I would not change a thing about Snettisham or the Rose and Crown. I loved it and wish I could have stayed longer. I didn't want to leave. The exterior, interior, décor, beds, bedrooms, cleanliness, food, facilities, drinks, wifi, parking, staff and all the little extras were perfect.
An attractive village with all amenities you could ask for. Excellent pub for evening meals --The Queen Vic. Fish and Chip shop too. Lovely local walks from the house. Excellent location for the many birdwatching sites in the area.
Fabulous breakfast in beautiful dining room and a very friendly waitress. Lovely room - liked the colour scheme combining timbers and seaside colours. Very convenient for Snettisham bird reserve.
