Set on the edge of a steep hillside overlooking the Golden Valley, Burleigh Court Hotel is a 18th-century Cotswold-stone manor house located in the heart of Royal Gloucestershire. Spectacular setting in the Cotswolds, beautiful grounds to relax and enjoy tea outside, overlooking the hills. The hospitality from everyone I interacted with was fantastic. The lady that works during the breakfast service is one of the kindest people I’ve met working in a hotel. I didn’t have dinner there due to other plans, but Based on my breakfast experience, I’m sure it’s wonderful! My room was on the 2nd floor, beautiful view of the grounds and opposite hill. The room is very tastefully decorated and clean. They also have suggested circular walks in the area, which really made my morning perfect. Wish I could have stayed another night just to enjoy it a bit longer, but no rooms available. Will be back again someday!

We loved the rustic decor. The throwback leather sofas. The stone walls. Logs placed at one side. The fireplace. The room was amazing as were the staff. Water was warm and the views were just beautiful. I cannot stress enough how much I loved this place. Honestly if you are looking for an English experience this is the place.

We visit Stroud frequently for sports purposes. It is a very pleasant town but our purpose for visiting does not afford us the opportunity to familiarise ourselves with useful details of it and the surrounding areas, which can be passed on to others.
Stroud is a great place to visit, lots of interesting shops and cafes. Ate at Sorrentos Italian restaurant which was great, lovely food and good value. Also ate at Spice Lounge curry which was also very good value with delicious food.
Its not a tourist town. The Tourist Office is hopeless. It has n o information about buses or timetables. The bus station area has very little coordinated information. Its geared for locals who know where they are going. There is a lack of decent restaurants. The markets (Farmers) and (Shambles) purely geared to locals. No serious attempt to push street food. (Compare with Boro Market London) The canals are just a lost opportunity. Just not a Tourist town. Wouldn't come again or recommend
Well Worth a trip to Bibury which was lovely and the Catherine Wheel Pub serves a really good lunch menu . Other local pubs worth a visit were The Black Swan at Amberley and The Old Fleece Pub.Burford also a nice trip with shops on the high street
We visited to see family and my cousin warned me that most places would be closed on a Sunday. That fact was definitely true. The only place open in Stroud on a Sunday evening was a wetherspoons pub. And it seemed that the only people in the town we're in there with us. It's ok if you like wetherspoons food. Apparently it's a great place to visit on a Friday or Saturday, don't bother on a Sunday.
Stroud is a brilliant town nice friendly people great pubs/ bars etc. Nice tea & coffee shops cafes etc. Great selection of quaint gift shops lots of independent shops. Great location for exploring the surrounding area eg Rodborough common River Frome & canal walks. Slad Painswick & Sheepscombe a must Laurie Lee’s Cider with Rosie. Absolutely brilliant highly recommended
Stroud
Property owner was very flexible to our request to change arrival date at the last minute. Communication was excellent throughout and she was very helpful. Location is great for walking and views of the surrounding area. Accommodation was spacious for 2 people and had everything we needed. Short bus ride into Stroud for shopping etc. Perfect for a short-break to get away from it all.
Stroud
The comfiest bed ever (and I have back problems), spacious, stylishly decorated room and house, wonderful bathroom, and a thoroughly professional, warm engaging host. The breakfast was as advertised and perfect. Even fresh figs from the tree outside. Also copies of the satirical and very funny Stroud Gusset were essential bathroom reading.
Generally good quality of premises, furnishings, facilities and staff. Hotel was genuinely dog friendly. Location is lovely with the common land right outside the hotel and lovely views. Plenty of outdoor space which was complemented by beautiful sunny weather. Quiet room in spite of the number of guests and the wedding taking place.
Stroud
Spacious two bedroom apartment with separate lounge area and well designed kitchenette. For the space, the accommodation represents reasonable value for money and it is dog friendly (but you will have to eat out for breakfast or pack food). Friendly staff and pretty good pub food downstairs
