Seamless check in, beautiful views from the room and the restaurant, excellent service and amazing location. Rare to see table linen and folded napkins at restaurant. Full breakfast and a variety of cooked food made to order. I was even offered a newspaper for the morning!! Rare to see traditional serviced hotels these days!!
Dating from 1898, this wonderful hotel commands a majestic location, nestled in the heart of the Isle of Purbeck, providing a spectacular view across Swanage Bay and Pevril Point.

Room was immaculately clean with a comfortable bed and large bathroom. Our delicious cooked breakfast was delivered to our room each morning. We really appreciated that our hosts had organised free parking permits for guests' use. Easy level walking distance to town centre and beach.

Just loved Swanage - a quintessential British seaside town, but lots of character, plenty to do, places to visit, local restaurants were particularly good - and to suit all pockets. Lovely local shops.

Favourite beach ever due to the fact that dogs were not allowed on them.
Didn't rate the fish and chips at all, the fish was left with the black skin on, which we are not used to coming from the North.

Swanage is not a big place and there is a shortage of places to eat. If you are planning to visit and you want more than fish and chips then I would suggest you look up restaurants before you go and book early.

Swanage is an ideal location, lovely beach, harbour and long pier.
If you enjoy walking and hiking you have a lot of options with quite a few very steep hills, the views are magnificent.
Swanage is a dog friendly area, some shops and restaurants allow well behaved dogs.

Worth a trip on the Swanage railway to Corfe Castle - hourly service
This apartment is in a superb location, on the ground floor, and just a few minutes walk to the beach, parks, amusements, town centre and of course, the great Swanage Railway station. It includes 2 free parking spaces - which are essential for this town in summer. The kitchen area is brand new and everything works smoothly. Jo was very helpful and quick to respond to guide us on a few initial queries to get us settled in. Would certainly consider returning.
Beautiful, light and spacious. Excellent location and having a dedicated parking space in the centre of Swanage (by experience), is a luxury. It is up a hill, but you can drop bags off first. The apartment was clean, quiet and has everything you'd need for a great short or long stay holiday! The hosts are great at keeping in touch should you need anything.
It was a spacious room with a good bathroom.
The shower was excellent. Best one so far.
We had a great view of Swanage.
It was a good walk along the promenade to town.
The staff were excellent.
Food was very good.
The gym had a jacuzzi and a sauna.
Loads of workout equipment.
Room was clean and bed comfortable. Lovely view of the sea.
Nice garden at the rear of the hotel and access to the beach.
Staff were mostly polite and professional - although not particularly warm or friendly.
The restaurant is lovely with sea views and good food.
A traditional hotel in a great location for the beach and amenities in Swanage. It sits in an impressive Victorian building with its own garden space and is a few minutes walk from the beach, town centre shops and steam railway in Swanage.
