Loved Swanage.... it's a delightful little seaside town with a magical timeless quality. Lovely pubs, independent shops and great architecture. The seafront and beach is gorgeous and the views amazing. All in all it's such a wonderful place.
We can always rely on Swanage for a good short break. Nice town with plenty of shopping variety. Clean beach. Nice walks. Loads of places to eat, be sure to book for the most popular restaurants. The Ship. The Anchor & The Black Swan recommended. Love Cake worth a visit, they do a great cappuccino, their cakes look delicious too. There is also a brilliant teddy bear shop in town. Plenty of places to visit within driving distance.
Swanage is a quirky place to visit. It's wonderfully situated by the sea and within easy reach of the Purbeck Hills, Studland and Wareham. It has good and interesting shops, the seafront is pleasant and there is some great walking in nearby coastal paths and nature reserves. Steam trains run from the station to Corfe Castle which is a great place for a short trip. The town is hilly, there are many churches and the housing is very varied with many alleyways and ponds.
There’s something for everyone. Ideal for family holiday. Some local shops are ‘tired’ and lack lustre and there seemed to be too many fish & chip shops. Nicer eateries can be found. Would recommend.
A beautiful coastal town set in a outstanding location with beautiful walks, trips etc. Beach can get busy in the holiday season but there are loads of walks and local areas to escape that if you so wish.
Swanage is a lovely town and bay with a clean beach that is shallow for a long stretch making it great for swimming and young children. There is so much to do and see in the surrounding area - Corfe Castle, Steam Train, coastal walks etc. Buses ar available to get you to the local area and also to Poole, Weymouth, and up to the mainline station in Wareham. We had some great ice cream and an indian meal delivered. It is popular so depending on your needs travel 'out of season' is great.
The hotel has great views, especially from the orangery/ dining rooms and the gardens. The hotel food was fantastic, and the service was excellent. With a direct set of stairs straight onto a lovely private beach with a beach bar serving delicious food, and a pair of sun beds for £10 all day. Gorgeous soft sand and lovely clear sea with lots of life just below the surface. Within a short stroll of Swanage town centre

Loved staying at the limes with my family. Beautiful hotel in an amazing location close to the beach, restaurants and shops. Comfortable room that accommodated myself, my husband and our three children. Sarah was so welcoming and made our stay very enjoyable. The breakfast room is beautiful and having breakfast made for us each morning was such a treat! Would definitely stay again.
A wonderful room with sea views, and a very good size. Shot walk to beach. Breakfast was excellent with a good choice and good service and friendly staff. Been to this hotel twice before and it never lets you down. They managed the social distancing very well. Thank you very much, un fortunately the weather was terrible especially for June.
Swanage
I adored this place: charming, helpful, buoyant staff; very clean; sparkling, comprehensive kitchen facilities and powerful showers. You get a totemic feeling after conquering the hill, too. I would thoroughly encourage anyone to stay here. Swanage is a mini-joy with some pretty good places to eat/drink/sit.
The ambience of the hotel was very relaxed & friendly. Nothing was too much trouble, room clean & comfortable. Lovely bathroom & had space to put your toilet bag in there. The safety of the guests was forefront & adherence to covid was in place without making it regimented.
We had a well equipped, comfortable room on the first floor with sea view. Very good quality breakfast and we ate in the restaurant in the evenings, again good quality food and service. A quiet location overlooking the sea and a short walk down to the beach. All good.
