Oakwrights offers accommodations in Terling, Chelmsford is 6.2 mi away. The property is 30 mi from Ipswich and free private parking is available. Free WiFi is featured throughout the property. We are relatively new to that part of the country, but travelled specifically to visit Hyde Hall RHS, and found the area stunning. There are some lovely walks in and around the village of Terling, and the charming hosts were only too wlling to point that out. The accommodation is charming, the food excellent, and the local bluebell wood was a particular highlight given that we don't seem to have decent bluebells in Sussex this year so I was envious! As a location for a short stay to visit Hyde Hall, I could not recommend this property more highly. The barn conversion is top quality, spotlessly clean, and beautifully fitted out. I would visit again.
Dating back to the 15th century, this Tudor house and converted stable block is set in the grounds of Channels Estate. staff are very friendly and went out of their way to assist. food excellent. generally a very lovely peaceful setting. rooms very comfortable. appreciated the bath! good wifi was important
Located in Hatfield Peverel, The Hideaway Pod has a swing chair over looking the lake. The pod offers lake views and features a seating area. Sue has been fantastic from the moment I booked, changed my booking date due to Covid, great communication before checking in, Gary calls you that morning to give you all the information needed. Beautiful setting, well kept lake. The Pod is great, Well cleaned on arrival (thanks Matt), shower toilet only a short walk away. I had my first fish, my partner had a 29lb mirror so very pleased. Very friendly will be back.. xx
Located in Black Notley, 11 mi from Chelmsford, Ross House features a garden and free WiFi. Everything quality. Bed, sheets, towels and fridge with coffee and tea making facilities. Spotlessly clean and super comfortable. Extremely quiet and close to pubs for food. Isabel (host) was extremely accommodating and helpful.
Met on arrival, plenty of room to park, accommodation is on first floor up a flight of stairs. It was very clean, has an ample living area with TV and sofas, plus a little kitchen. Large bed with separate shower room/wc. Ideal for a quite stay in the countryside, but close enough to Boreham House Venue (15 minutes by taxi) to be perfect location. TIP1: Ask Noel to arrange your rides/taxis etc. in advance - he has loads of local knowledge. TIP2: Order Breakfast Basket (£8 per person) and get fresh local eggs, milk and bread, with cereals and enough to make a lovely cooked breakfast. (2 person breakfast is easily enough for 3 people!)
Cute little tearoom and nice pub that gave me the lunchtime and evening menu at lunchtime and told me to see what I liked and they'd adapt it to be vegetarian and gluten free. Felt like you were right out in the sticks but you are also very close to main towns.
We particularly liked the visit to Burnham on Crouch, and could have spent longer there. Stow Maries WW1 museum and airfield is fabulous and full of mystery. Terling is only small, but Hatfield Peveral is close by,I must say the people we met round and about Maldon are so friendly and welcoming. A visit to East Mersea is a treat, the walks around the coast are a bonus for anyone liking wildlife and birdwatching.
very nice village can't believe that its so near chelmsford it feels like you are miles away.very quiet .nice tearoom but not a lot else.doesnt take you to long to get to a couple of nice eating places
